Due to an internal structural change this opportunity for Head of Housing has been created to take forward the Strategic vision and Corporate Plan set by the Management Committee. The post holder will lead and develop the Housing and Support Services, delivering key objectives and priorities as set by the Management Committee and the Executive Management Team. The job will be fast paced and interesting. 5 Dear Candidate, Head of Housing, Loreburn Housing Association Loreburn H A operate in the Dumfries and Galloway region providing services to the benefit of the customers and communities they serve. The Head of Housing role is a new role which brings together our housing management and supported housing services, helping the Director to implement Agile Working and a growth mind set culture, whilst looking at innovative ways to also deliver high quality, value for money services. We currently have 2500 units with an ambitious new build programme. We recently reviewed our housing services delivery model which resulted in the creation of the post of Head of Housing. The post has been introduced to ensure consistent service delivery and compliance to standards whilst driving innovation and excellence. We have also recently reviewed our support services with a commitment to move away from the traditional model towards foyers and extra care housing. We work closely with our partners in Health and Social Care and together we are designing a number of development projects. 8 Corporate Plan A copy of Loreburn s Corporate Plan can be found in the document downloads section of our website Principle Terms & Conditions o Probationary Period The first 6 months of your employment will be a probationary period. We reserve the right to extend your probationary period beyond this initial period. We shall have the right for any reason to terminate your employment on one week's notice or one week's salary in lieu of notice at any time during or at the end of this probationary period. o Salary will be paid monthly on the 28 th of each month; where this date falls at a weekend or public holiday then you will be paid on the nearest preceding working day. This payment will be made by direct transfer into your bank account. o Incremental Progression Progression within the salary band is reviewed on an annual basis (normally 1 April) and will be dependent on performance and behaviour throughout the previous calendar year. To be eligible for an incremental review you need to have completed 6 months service in post and you must have points within the band to progress to (ie you are only eligible for progression if you are not already at the top of the band). o Holiday Entitlement The leave year runs from 1 January to 31 December. For an employee who works 5 days per week there are 23 floating days and 12 fixed days, making a total of 35 days. o Working days and hours normal working hours is Monday to Friday 9-5pm You will be required to work in excess of normal working hours from time to time where the demands of your role require you to do so. You will normally be compensated for working such additional hours by being allowed time off in lieu or any other such system that is in operation at the time, provided that these additional hours are authorised in advance by your line manager. Further details are available in the employee handbook. For managers and assistant managers working in the operational side of the organisation, there is a requirement to provide an Out of Office Hours emergency contact service on a rota basis for which an additional payment is made. o Pension you will be automatically enrolled into Loreburn s pension scheme when you join the organisation, you do have the option to opt out. o Absence - Company Sick Pay will be paid in accordance with the table of entitlements below. In calculating the level and period of company sick pay due to the employee, the 12 months preceding the start of the current sickness spell will be reviewed.

11 Head of Housing Reports to: Director of Operations Salary: up to 55,684 Location: Dumfries, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland Purpose of the role You will be passionate about delivering a professional customer focused landlord and support service that consistently impresses our customers whilst enhancing our reputation. You will be an effective strategic manager with experience of developing enthusiastic and high performing teams and maintaining effective controls in an environment where safety and compliance are critical. You will be an excellent communicator, creating an environment in which you always seek to understand first and create simple ways to keep people informed about things that are important to them. You will have huge personal integrity coupled with resilience and will build a team that is known for delivering and keeping its promises. Your team will get things done on time, to the highest standards and learn quickly when things go wrong. The post holder will report directly to the Director of Operations and work closely with other Heads of Service to implement the Management Committee s vision to Create Great Places to Live. The post holder will have line management responsibility for 4 assistant managers who will deal with the operational side of the service, giving you the scope to plan, develop, and implement continuous strategic service improvements.
