1 CG Partnership WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT/APPRENTICESHIP COORDINATOR (0.6) CG Partnership CG Partnership is involved in running a range of community, work-related and foundation learning programmes for young people and adults in rural, coastal and peripheral areas. Most projects have objectives involving widening participation in education and training and the promotion of social inclusion. CG Partnership runs training projects across Lincolnshire and beyond, but especially from its own Community Learning Centres in Market Rasen, Mablethorpe and Gainsborough. CGP is a third sector organisation with approximately 25 staff which is constituted as a Community Interest Company (CIC). We are fully committed to the principles and benefits of social enterprise. The Head Office is in Market Rasen. CG Partnership was inspected by Ofsted in January 2008 and gained an overall Grade 2 ( good ) as well as Grade 2s for all programmes and leadership/management, with a Grade 1 ( outstanding ) for equality of opportunity. Purpose of the post The purpose of this new post is to develop and co-ordinate the relatively new Apprenticeship Programme at CG Partnership and to support the development of a wider range of training needs within Third Sector organisations (social enterprises, voluntary/community organisations and charities). The first key aspect of the role is work with organisations to identify apprenticeship and other training/development opportunities. The second key aspect is to ensure that CGP is running a thriving and sustainable apprenticeship offer. If successful, the post could become full-time later, if desired. Context CGP is committed to providing a high quality service in local communities. For , we have secured or are negotiating funding for programmes which serve both young people (16-18 years) and adults in the community and for those who are unemployed/in low skilled work as follows: Young People Foundation Learning programme for 80+ learners 1

2 Apprenticeships (business admin, customer service, health and social care, retail, volunteer management) Adult Learning Community Learning provision for 1800 learners Mental Health Project Job Club Apprenticeships (business admin, customer service, health and social care, retail, volunteer management) ESF Community Grants capacity-building Delivery of PTLLS (Preparing to Teach) Job specification Key tasks: 1. To engage with Third Sector and other employers to promote and recruit apprentices for whom CGP will be the training provider: Proactively seeking opportunities to meet with Third Sector and other employers, individually and in groups, to promote positive relationships and promote the benefits of apprenticeships Promote apprentices according to agreed targets Monitor progress of apprentices to ensure retention and timely achievement Provide support to a caseload of apprentices to ensure they are benefitting from the training and progressing well Complete monthly project returns including action plans to address any quality issues or slippage; 2. To identify the training and development needs of employed staff at all levels within the Third Sector and to work with senior staff at CGP to: Produce an on-going Third Sector training needs map Identify training within Lincolnshire and the surrounding area that can meet needs Use various CGP funding streams to organise/offer training, where applicable Promote intermediate and advanced apprenticeships, where appropriate; 3. To oversee the work of part-time assessors on the apprenticeship project with the support of the Operations Director; 4. To carry out teaching or assessment duties based on 6-10 hours per week; 5. To contribute to the internal verification of e-portfolios; 2

3 6. To carry out Health and Safety audits at employers venues both prior to and during an Apprenticeship as required or support others in this task; 7. To evaluate and develop own practice; 8. To adhere fully to CGP s Quality, Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety Policies. 3
