Plan International Australia coordinates a range of programs internationally to assist children their local communities in areas such as health, education, child protection, disaster risk management. We also campaign fundraise with passionate engaged supporters across Australia who are part of a global movement to make the world a fairer place for all children one where girls can take their rightful place as equals. By actively involving children young people, working at a grassroots level with no religious or political affiliations, Plan International unites inspires people around the globe to transform the world for children. Thematic portfolios include Early Childhood Development Education, Water, Sanitation Hygiene (WA Empowerment, Child Rights within the IPT, with technical advisory support in the areas of Gender, Inclusion, Child Rights Monitoring Evaluation (M&E). This position will report to the Program Manager, ECD Education PRIMARY POSITION OBJECTIVE(s) To support the achievement of through Civil Registration Vital Statistics programming. The Project Officer has the responsibility to manage Child Rights & projects through the project cycle, with a particular focus on striving for best practice in child rights, child protection, gender equality. The project officer will also support the Child Rights portfolio in implementing the lead National Office role for Birht Registration Innovations in the global organization, incuding through knowledge management, communication, administrative support. This job represents an excellent opportunity for an early career international development specialist to grow their experience knowledge in this sector contribute to Plan KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Key Result Area Major Activities Performance Area/Indicators Weighting % Direct project management of a small number 40 of child rights protection projects, as directed by the Senior Advisor. Ensure program, financial reputational risks to programs are managed in a competent timely manner. This includes close budget management, developing monitoring risk plans regular reporting of risks to the Senior Advisor. 1. Support Child Rights Program Management 2. Provide administrative management support to PIA Child Rights team the global BRIT. Support project design of new projects in partnership with country office partners the Senior advisor BRiT team contribute to program quality throughout the project cycle. Review quarterly project reports provide feedback to country office partners. Support input into project evaluations in partnership with country office partners Plan International Australia colleagues. Ensure that evaluation findings are disseminated with relevant stakeholders. Support the establishment continuation of any project partnerships which serve to enhance project impact quality. Explore contribute ideas which will enable projects to scale-up, adopt new innovations or trial new technologies which serve to increase impact. Help manage the supply dem for temporary technical support or technical inquiries within the civil registration network Support PIA the BRiT team with the production of the Digital Birth Registration Playbook Support with the production of global CRVS goods that are promoted disimintated within Plan Interntional. Support business development initatives for the PIA Child Rights portfolio Thematic program related projects are successfully implemented. Partners receive timely relevant advice inputs at key points in the program cycle, but most especially during project start-up evaluation. Program financial risks are actively managed. High quality administration organisational support provided. Knowledge management systems are improved. 3 programs. TOP 3 CHALLENGES (of this position) 1. Maintaining an effective balance between the 2 parts of the role (support to the Global Birth Reigstratoin Innovation team project management support) 2. Maintaining effective efficient communications across the organisation, with timezone language differences. 3. Supporting a diverse array of individual projects/activities, each of which have specific support needs. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Bachelor s degree at a recognised university (at a minimum) A passion for child protection, child rights, gender, inclusion. Proficiency in Microsoft Office package Sharepoint Experience managing teams or projects (domestic or international projects) Understing of rights based development, gender inclusive development practice Excellent planning, organisational administrative skills Good report writing editing skills Skills interest in exploring using platforms for online collaboration e.g. Office 365, Yammer, Facebook for work Excellent collaboration teamwork Ability to communicate effectively in cross-cultural contexts Ability to work independently Sound financial management skills. Willingnes to undertake some international travel to work outside of stard office hours (to enable effective communication across timezones). Experience of working or volunteering with NGOs an advantage.. Good working skills in French an advantage.
