1 We are excited that you have joined the PA College Team! To ensure that you get off to a great start, we have designed an onboarding plan especially for you. Please use this checklist to complete all of your pre-employment tasks in a timely manner. Please visit for FAQs. Best wishes on a rewarding and successful career at PA College! 2 PRE-EMPLOYMENT TASKS Tasks below must be completed by the due date or your start date will need to be changed Pre employment screening Due: All drug screens must be completed the Wednesday before your New Hire Orientation. All new hires must complete a pre-employment screening prior to their first day. Please schedule a date and time with your Recruiter. Non-clinical hires Drug Screen & Influenza Vaccine (if applicable time of year) Clinical hires Drug screen, review of immunizations, 2 step PPD and a physical Universal Background Due: Complete and submit information to Universal Screening upon receipt of . An automated will be sent to you from Universal Screening within a few days of hire. Complete and submit immediately as Background Checks can take some time to complete. Clinical Requirements (If applicable) Due: Within 90 days of hire. Please begin the process of obtaining FBI Fingerprint and PA Child Abuse clearances. Original copies and receipts must be presented to the Office of Human Resources for reimbursement. All clinical licenses, certifications and clearances must be uploaded into the employee Workday profile. Instructions are located at (Clinical Hires). Workday Tasks Due: All Workday tasks must be completed and submitted the Tuesday before New Hire Orientation. An automated will be sent to you from Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health with a username and temporary password to access Workday. FIRST DAY PREPARATION What do I need to bring to New Employee Orientation? 1. A valid license and social security card OR passport (I-9 Verification) 2. Your license plate and vehicle make/model for a parking pass Dress Code Dress is Business Casual. A detailed dress code is located in the Review Documents task in Workday Onboarding. Where do I park? Park in the visitor lot in front of the building. You will receive a parking pass during New Hire Orientation. What options are available for lunch? Options include a campus cafeteria and a self-serve convenience store ( C store ). You are also welcome to pack a lunch there are plenty of refrigerators/microwaves available for your convenience. Security Badge and parking pass New employees will have their photo taken for their security badge and account. If driving to campus, bring your license plate number and make/model to provide to campus security for a parking pass. DEPARTMENT ORIENTATION Below is a list of topics that should be reviewed with you by your supervisor. Your supervisor will be your primary point of contact regarding College policies and procedures. Don't miss out on our PA College alerts sent to you by text message or . - Visit MyPortal > College Services & Resources > e2campus Knowledge Link - At New Hire Orientation, you will have created a Penn Key and password. This information is used for completing required compliance modules. During your first week, all employees are required to complete three (3) modules (FERPA, Sexual Harassment & Employee Handbook). - Clinical faculty will work with their department to complete additional required modules. - All modules are due by the end of March of each year (unless specified otherwise). Retirement - Eligible employees may contribute up to 75% of their income immediately upon hire to a retirement income account. If no election is made, employees are automatically enrolled at a 6% pre-tax contribution rate, to begin after 45 days of service. - Visit to create an account and enroll or opt out. - Visit the HR MyPortal > Retirement for more information Employee Handbook & Faculty Supplement - As part of your onboarding tasks, new hires need to read and familiarize themselves with the Employee Handbook & Faculty Supplement (if applicable).
