3 The process of adaptation of SDGs 2030 in Ukraine 1. The Government has set up an inter-agency high-level working group to organize the process of implementing the SDGs 2. The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade held 32 meetings (17 working groups, about 200 participants) 3. National consultations (about 300 participants: government agencies, UN agencies, other international organizations, scientists, public organizations, experts) 4. Consultations were conducted in 10 regions (about 700 participants: local self-government bodies, international and public organizations)

4 Analysis of the available information base for monitoring the global indicators of the SDGs achievement Analysis of the available information base in Ukraine for monitoring the global indicators of the SDGs achievement shows that at the moment the state statistics bodies have information on 96 indicators. At the same time, information is collected and developed: - on 52 indicators - in full compliance with existing international standards, - on 44 indicators - partially.

6 Evaluation of national statistical capacity The goals for which national statistics can provide information support to a greater extent at this time : Goal 1. End poverty in all its forms everywhere Goal 3. Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well being for all at all ages Goal 5. Ensuring gender equality and empowering all women and girls. Goals the least provided with information support: Goal 13. Taking urgent measures to combat climate change and its impacts Goal 14. Conservation and sustainable use of oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.

8 Evaluation of alternative data sources for SDGs information support A number of SDGs indicators remain undefined (requiring additional consultations with public authorities for their availability) or require the development of methodological clarification from international organizations. The role of using administrative data increases : Public registries Open data on web sites Big Data

10 for the UN Statistical Commission: to disclose all available methodological provisions on the procedure for identifying indicators for SDGs monitoring to complete the development of the methodology for the calculation of indicators that is unavailable to define a minimum set of indicators that will be used for international comparisons of SDGs progress Recommendations for Ukraine: to develop and approve a normative legal act on the procedure for the SDGs monitoring in Ukraine to complete the development of the methodology for the calculation of indicators that is unavailable to identify potential sources of funding for special surveys to analyze the selected indicators for monitoring the SDGs in terms of their compliance with international standards to continue work on optimizing the system of indicators, and, if necessary, tasks
