Throughout those 50 years, we have established a broad expertise in the field of metalworking, where we are also currently recognised as specialists in the production of complex welded structures. If required, we can even carry out the entire purchasing process, project handling and stock control, up to and including supply. 3 Exceptionally versatile The 16,000 m2 of floor space in our factory offers scope for a wide range of operations. These include not only (robot) welding, but also many other sheet metalworking processes, such as laser cutting, shearing, bending, deep drawing and punching. Flexibility is the basis for both our processes and personnel: rendering us an extremely capable partner for both large and small production series. We can also perform surface treatment and assembly of your products. This is an additional quality that make it all the easier to choose VD Leegte Metaal. Moreover, all clients can rest in the added assurance that VD Leegte Metaal is a subsidiary of the highly successful VDL Groep. Unique machinery Technology is the basis for our success. And we continue to expand our flexibility and boost our competitive position through carefully considered automation and robotisation. Our unique welding line comprising 14 welding robots is a prime example of such innovations. Furthermore, we have various computer controlled laser machines with automatic input and output and online control, and can offer CAD/CAM engineering. Among our major machines are a 750-ton hydraulic press, 400-ton eccentric press and a bending press (max. 360 ton). These sorts of additions enable us to continually increase productivity, while maintaining constantly high level of quality.

4 Own tool shop The various experienced craftsmen working in our tool shop endeavour to increase flexibility, while reducing the lead time. Our engineers, tool shop and factory all cooperate closely with each other to save more time and money. Innovation and practical solutions are key words in this field. We utilise our purely functionally built machinery to convert customer-specific descriptions into physical operations. Own company training programme We invest not only in machinery, but also in our personnel. We create a good working climate and encouraging atmosphere. And to ensure that we continue to perform at the highest possible levels, we have established our own training institute to provide training and refresher courses. For instance, we train our own welders to certificate level. However, we go even further and broader. Knowledge and skills are developed to a higher standard: we make our personnel widely deployable. This sort of training is a continuous process.
