2 POSITION DESCRIPTION Delivery Co-ordinator (Māori) Kaiwhakarite (Te Waihora), LincolnFirst Telford Division Context Lincoln University is a vertically integrated university, delivering qualifications from levels 2 to 10 on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework. The LincolnFirst (LF) Telford Division originates from a merger between Lincoln University and the former Telford Rural Polytechnic that came into effect on 1 January The LF Telford Division has lead responsibility for primary sector qualifications at levels 2-6 and works closely with schools to provide opportunities for learners to consider the primary sector for future qualifications and career opportunities. LincolnFirst Telford also plays a key role in delivering on the University s Whenua Strategy, particularly delivery in partnership with Iwi and other Māori groups. The Division is also exploring international opportunities. The Division operates nationally through a network of strategic partners. Staff are based on both university campuses, with the majority of staff based at the LF Telford, Otanamomo campus in Balclutha, South Otago. Purpose Reporting to the LF Telford Director, the purpose of the Delivery Co-ordinator (Māori) Kaiwhakarite, LincolnFirst Telford Division position, is to manage delivery relationships with Iwi and other Māori groups; develop effective collaborative relationships across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders including demonstrating commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi by working in partnership with tangata whenua; and to contribute to qualification development. Key Outputs Relationship Management Effectively manage delivery relationships with Iwi and other Māori groups. Facilitate and co-ordinate input into Iwi delivery relationships from internal stakeholders and delivery partners. Vocational Education Design and ensure implementation of high quality delivery models for Māori learners. Achieve best practice and innovation in vocational education design and delivery for Māori learners. Contribute to qualification development to ensure qualifications are relevant and appropriate for Māori learners. Key Performance Indicators Lincoln University has strong delivery relationships with Iwi and other Māori groups. Lincoln University is seen as a key partner in supporting Māori development in land-based industries. Internal stakeholders and delivery partners are supported and feel valued in their engagement with Iwi delivery. Educational quality indicators are agreed and achieved. LincolnFirst Telford delivery recognised as high quality by Iwi and other Māori groups. LincolnFirst Telford qualifications are relevant and responsive to Māori learners.

3 Key Outputs Project Management Develop and manage project plans for Iwi delivery initiatives. Develop, present and manage budgets for Iwi delivery initiatives. Undertake such project tasks as the Director LF Telford may request. Te Tiriti - Treaty of Waitangi Recognises the partnership principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and supports the University to meet its obligations under the Treaty of Waitangi. Demonstrates, and encourages others to demonstrate and support the obligations of the University and LincolnFirst Telford in contributing to the bi-cultural society in which the University functions. Provides cultural support to the Director, LincolnFirst Telford Division and other staff. Health and Safety Becomes familiar, and comply, with all H&S policies and procedures. Complies with all Lincoln University legislative requirements in respect of occupational H&S. Reports any hazard that has come to your attention. Wears protective clothing/apparatus as required. Ensures staff compliance with occupational health and safety legislation and regulations. Ensures that day to day operational health and safety management is accepted and carried out at line management level. Manages team and individual health and safety performance. Ensures health and safety programmes are sustained, and sufficient resources allocated for health and safety to function effectively. Reports as required on health and safety issues to the Health and Safety Manager. Key Performance Indicators Project Management All contributors to the delivery initiative are well informed of objectives, deadlines and other requirements. Any issues are managed with consideration for multiple cultural contexts and in a timely manner. Delivery initiatives are managed within budget. Agreed projects are incorporated into the annual LincolnFirst Telford business plan, timeframes and objectives are met. Strategies and objectives are developed which support the University s commitment to the provision of the Treaty, particularly as these relate to Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu. Develop and strengthen strategic alliances with Māori and Pasifika. Activities and practices that contribute directly to University policies and objectives in equity and diversity are developed and implemented within LincolnFirst Telford, staff management and student systems. Assist in the implementation of the University s Whenua Strategy. Health and Safety All Lincoln University H&S policies and procedures are complied with. All Lincoln University legislative requirements in respect of occupational health and safety are complied with. The employer is notified of any hazard that has come to the employee s attention in the course of their employment. Protective clothing/apparatus are used where procedures or common sense would warrant this. All health and safety registers are up to date. All health and safety policies and procedures are followed and health and safety legislation is complied with. All HSNO requirements are being met. Infectious diseases are notified immediately. All accidents, incidents and near misses are reported immediately.

4 Accountability The position of Delivery Co-ordinator (Māori) Kaiwhakarite, LincolnFirst Telford Division position, is an operational relationship management position. The Delivery Co-ordinator (Māori) Kaiwhakarite reports to the Director LF Telford Division and has a functional reporting line to the Deputy Vice Chancellor Communities. Location The Delivery Co-ordinator (Māori) Kaiwhakarite position is based at the Te Waihora campus (Lincoln) and requires frequent travel nationally, including to Otanamomo campus (Balclutha). Staff Supervised Possibly delivery teams Key Relationships The Delivery Co-ordinator (Māori) Kaiwhakarite, will have effective working relationships with: INTERNAL Director, LincolnFirst Telford Division; Deputy Vice Chancellor Communities; Te Puna Whakapuawai; Māori Outreach Co-ordinator; Te Awarua; LincolnFirst Telford managers; Academic staff. EXTERNAL Iwi and cultural groups / agencies; Delivery partners and their staff; ITPs, PTEs, secondary and tertiary education providers. Person Specification Qualification A tertiary qualification in a relevant area. Knowledge and Experience The Delivery Co-ordinator (Māori) Kaiwhakarite role requires a person who has: Essential An understanding of te reo me ona tikanga Māori and the ability to effectively operate in a Māori context; Ability to build effective relationships with Iwi and other Māori groups; Ability to build relationships and facilitate input from non-māori; Understanding of how education can contribute to Māori development aspirations; Proven experience in educational design; Knowledge of vocational education and Māori learners; A genuine demonstration of commitment to working collaboratively with colleagues to foster equity and diversity and to meet the obligations of the Treaty of Waitangi; Proven successful experience in: o Project planning and management; o Managing significant external relationships; An understanding of the Primary sector and vocational education in New Zealand.

6 CONDITIONS OF APPOINTMENT GENERAL STAFF Term of Appointment This is a continuing appointment. Hours of Work This is a full time appointment of 40 hours per week. Remuneration Salary on commencement will be within the range $57,990 to $65,110 per annum [Grade 5] on the General Staff salary scale, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Employment Agreement If the appointee chooses to become a union member, the appointee will be bound by the Lincoln University General Staff Collective Employment Agreement. It contains a comprehensive range of conditions of employment for this position. Otherwise the appointee will have an Individual Employment Agreement based on the Lincoln University General Staff Collective Employment Agreement. The conditions outlined in this document are indicators of some of the key items of that agreement. Annual Leave Annual leave entitlement is five weeks per annum. The appointee is also entitled to statutory holidays in accordance with the Holidays Act. In addition, the appointee is entitled to the last working day before Christmas Day, the three working days between Christmas and New Year, and Easter Wednesday, as University holidays, in accordance with the Lincoln University General Staff Collective Employment Agreement. Health and Safety The appointee will work and act at all times in compliance with all Lincoln University requirements in respect of occupational health and safety. University staff can join the Recreation Centre on campus. The Centre offers a wide range of facilities and services, for example: gymnasium, weights room, exercise classes, fitness assessments, massage, squash courts. Relocation If the appointee resides outside the Christchurch area, relocation will be discussed with the successful applicant.
