1 Assistant Coach, U19 Men XVs Rugby Rugby Manitoba Manitoba Buffalo Rugby Manitoba Rugby Manitoba is the not-for-profit Provincial Sporting Organization (PSO) for rugby in Manitoba. Our vision to lead the sport of rugby in Manitoba into a new era of growth through increased participation, community involvement, and successful player development. Our mission is to develop and grow rugby at all levels for all people in Manitoba. We work with our member clubs, associations, along with many schools and community groups across the Province. Primary Objectives and Responsibilities of Assistant Coach To support the Head Coach on and off the field. Demonstrating a significant improvement over the contracted period, enhancing the reputation of rugby in Manitoba and the team. To assist the Head Coach with squad selection in accordance with the guidelines adopted by Rugby Manitoba. Role of the Assistant Coach The Assistant Coach, Provincial Program, under the supervision of the Head Coach, is a part-time, volunteer position that holds the primary responsibility of assisting player development systems at a specific age grade level. The position demands a very strong understanding of the game of Rugby at the Provincial level, effective communication skills and the ability to work closely with numerous volunteers and other professional staff. The position will involve a commitment to aspects of high performance player development and talent identification (TID) as well as consultation with the head coach as well as the Director, High Performance. Reporting to Age Grade Provincial Head Coach, the successful applicant will operate within the guidelines of a fiscally responsible provincial program that is committed to the development of Manitoba Rugby athletes that are part of the high performance pathway. The Assistant Coach will be required to support the Head Coach and Rugby Manitoba Leadership team with all team activity planning (camps / training), administrative and touring requirements associated with the age grade Provincial Program, including work to support academies and the age-grade programs. This position will require flexibility to work both evenings and weekends. Core Responsibilities and Priorities The Assistant Coach will be responsible for performing the following roles and/or delivering the following outcomes: Leadership Squad Selection, Team Selection & Preparation Team Method

2 Effective Team Training Discipline Player Development & Appraisal Program Administration and logistics Tour Management activities Age-grade planning and management Required Skills & Qualifications Involvement in rugby at a high level; Minimum of World Rugby Level 1/Community Initiation Trained A background that displays people management and people leadership skills and attributes; Proven success implementing a plan in a structured environment Keep a coaching diary Visit/observe school programs to promote provincial programs An ability to work independently without supervision but in accordance with documented policy and procedure guidelines; A record of working as a team member, as well as a history of performing in situations that require self-leadership and initiative; An ability to balance team / athletes needs and goals with those of the administration of Rugby Manitoba; A background that displays people management and people leadership skills and attributes; A background that displays excellent stakeholder relations and workplace cooperation; Compensation Mileage on approved travel will be provided An honorarium will be discussed and paid as part of this position Application Process All requests are to be made to the contact below.
