1 Job Description Job Title: Communications Executive Department: Sales Operations Reporting to (Job Title): Communication and Events Manager No of Direct Reports: 0 Titles of Direct Reports: N/A Size of Department: Budget Responsibility (direct): 0 Revenue Responsibility (direct): 0 Date of issue: July 2017 Issued by (name): Natasha Richardson Overall Purpose of Role: To support the maintenance of our Cunard and P&O Cruises Travel Agent communication strategy, and to effectively manage multi-channel travel agent communications, including bulletins, campaign collateral, social media and print. Working in partnership with the brand marketing teams to deliver communications which support the individual brand marketing strategy. To ensure the content of all our communications is fresh, exciting, relevant and deliver consistent messages across our different communication channels Page 1 of 6

2 Main Activities and Responsibilities In conjunction with the Communication & Events Manager, deliver and maintain a communication strategy which supports the department vision and company objectives To manage and deliver multi-channel travel agent communications, including , social media and print. Working in partnership with the brand marketing teams to deliver communications that support the individual brand marketing communications strategy To work with the Communication & Events Manager to identify development opportunities to achieve objectives Manage, develop, report on and grow our online communities and social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, blogs and forums Identify new initiatives in the online communities space, and ensure that we are using social media to reflect the full scope of Cunard and P&O Cruises To support all campaigns with the coordination of supporting activity this will be both trade facing and consumer facing To work closely with the Marketing Teams to ensure they are fully briefed on our requirements and material is delivered on time and in line with brand guidelines and commercial needs To provide the wider Sales Teams with the information and collateral required for each campaign Jointly responsible for maintenance of our Travel Agent website, ensuring user journey is intuitive and information is accurate and easily obtainable To analyse the effectiveness of our activity and report on the success To regularly review and update the business processes for the management of communications to manage our costs effectively Budget Management / Financial Responsibilities / Revenue / Sales / Cost Management / Cost Control To manage our budget and to coordinate all costs including accurate submission of monthly forecast and month end submissions To drive return on investment and deliver ways to measure success To identify, develop and implement business improvement initiatives Customer Responsibilities (Internal & External Customers) Responsible for building a network of successful relationships to both internal and external contacts to deliver successes Work with the Sales Operations and Carnival UK Sales Teams to ensure our communication is joined up and market leading Liaison with Travel Agent partners to understand feedback and utilise to deliver engaging communications that meet their needs To work effectively with the PR, Brand Marketing Teams and Digital Marketing to contribute to the shared organisational goals Take a collaborative approach and communicate effectively and regularly with all stakeholders 2

3 Technical (including systems) and/or Professional Responsibilities Ability to build and deliver our s using HTML and utilising software such as Cheetahmail, Dreamweaver or Alterian Developing and maintaining a calendar of social media activity, including daily posts and tweets Generating content including photos, video and other engaging material Working with our Marketing Teams and agencies to develop promotions, competitions and other material that will help increase engagement within our Travel Agents Keeping abreast of changes in e-commerce to ensure we maximise new opportunities Using, managing and maintaining a database of travel agent contacts To use Content Management Systems to ensure our Travel Agent website contains, accurate and engaging content that reflects our brands and commercial priorities Administration Responsibilities To contribute to weekly and monthly reporting Coordinating collateral requirement for marketing campaigns Responsible for coordinating material needed and offers needed for weekly bulletins Various ad hoc admin to support tasks in this area Other Responsibilities To ensure the Communication & Events Manager is effectively advised on all aspects affecting business activity (internal and external to the business) Deputise as necessary for the Events Executive, Academy Training Managers or line Manager Implementing improvements based on insight HESS Responsibilities Lead by example by taking care of the health and safety of yourself and others Report all accidents, near miss incidents and work related ill health conditions to your manager and to the Facilities department. Follow safety rules and procedures Use work equipment, personal protective equipment, substances, and safety devices correctly Take part in safety training & risk assessments and suggest ways of reducing risks. Act safely in accordance with our HESS safety behaviours General Responsibilities Adhere to Corporate Policies and Procedures, including Code of Conduct, Audit Procedures and any control related responsibility for financial data entered, stored, or reported via business systems within employees control (list not exhaustive). 5 Person Specification Job Title: Department: Communications Executive Sales Operations Education, Qualifications and Training Educated to GCSE standard 5 at Grade C or above to include English and Maths Microsoft Office to an intermediate level (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint) Desirable: Educated to A level A digital marketing qualification from a recognised body Experience At least two years experience of working for a company in an administration based role, ideally in travel Experience of sending out communications on a regular basis that are tailored to the audience Able to demonstrate social media aptitude Desirable: Knowledge of travel industry, cruise in particular Experience of writing communications (copy writing and proof reading) Work Based Competencies Competencies that refer to the specific work related skills required for successful performance in the role. (e.g. technological competence, written ability, numerical ability, relevant legislative or procedural understanding, analytical ability, organisational ability and project management etc. Computer and internet proficient Excellent communication skills with a very high standard of written English and attention to detail Ability to self-motivate, self-organise and take the lead Results-focused and analytical Good technical abilities Excellent time management and prioritisation within a high pressure environment Desirable: 5
