1 SOLUTION PLATFORM ARCHITECT POSITION DESCRIPTION Position Title: Responsible To: Council Program: Solution Platform Architect Product Manager Technology Platforms Information Management Transform Classification Level: Salaried, Level 8 Overview of Program The Information Management Program will provide innovative technology solutions that add value to the City and Community. Key Relationships / Interactions Internal External Staff members across the Information Management Program Adelaide City Council (ACC) staff members across all Portfolios and Programs Local Government and State Government bodies Service providers, suppliers and contractors

2 Primary Purpose Responsibilities As part of the Information Management Transform Team the Solution Platform Architect will; Provide professional, timely and effective IM solution design and implementation services to ACC, including expert technical advice on complex matters relating to the cloud solutions, network topology and IM infrastructure. In collaboration with Product Manager Technologies and Platforms, be accountable for the delivery of a robust and scalable Enterprise-wide platform architecture that will deliver on Council s strategic objectives. Ensure that solution architecture is developed in alignment with the Enterprise Architecture. The Solution Platform Architect is responsible for; Providing expert technical knowledge and expertise to contribute to the development of IM policies, procedures and the formulation of a robust and scalable IM Architecture. Ensuring that all future solution architecture provided by partners align to the overall Enterprise-wide platform architecture. Establishing development standards and design templates and provide direction and guidance to Solution Developers. Contributing to the identification and selection of software, technology and IT infrastructure, with a focus on delivering cloud-based solutions. Ensuring compliance to processes and procedures identified in IM Quality Management Framework. Ensuring compliance to other Council policies, procedures and other legislative requirements. 3 Selection Criteria Candidates should ensure that their application clearly demonstrates their ability to meet the Criteria detailed below. Qualifications People Management A tertiary qualification in Information Management or related field and/or commensurate demonstrated experience in lieu of formal qualifications. Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and engage a multi-function team, manage change and operate in an environment that promotes excellence. Demonstrated ability to support staff across a range of complex projects in the delivery of ACC strategic objectives. Financial Skills & Acumen An awareness of commercial acumen and strong sense of accountability. Technical Knowledge & Experience Project Management Innovation & Initiative Resource Management & Decision Making Professional Development Demonstrate hands on experience in multiple industries and across several disciplines and categories. Demonstrate a mastery of various software and cloud platforms including distributed platforms, desktops and mobile devices. Extensive experience in Enterprise Architecture practice and disciple. Proven acumen to handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities. Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects to achieve high quality outomes on time and within budget. Prepared to take ownership and accountability for deliverables. Proven experience in applying/managing best practice business principles and practices to the development and delivery of strategies, development plans, initiatives, programs, policy and procedures for the management of major development initiatives, and monitoring and reporting on outcomes. Ability to think strategically, analyse complex situations, develop creative solutions and achieve outcomes that advance the Program s objectives. Building and developing simple and powerful business focussed solutions. Proven ability to make independent decisions and work under limited direction, having regard to organisational policy guidelines, practices and political influences. Ability to effectively utilise allocated resources which includes planning, delegating and prioritising. Ability to prioritise and be flexible when responding to changing priorities and demands. Demonstrated comprehensive experience in research / analytical / technical skills and the presentation of the findings. A commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning.
