1 Job Description Job Title Responsible to Active Communities Development Manager Permanent F/T 37 hours/ week Salary Range 24,000-28,000 East Northamptonshire Area Manager Location Pemberton Centre, but ability to travel to all freedom leisure sites and community venues across the district. Job Purpose With the support from the Group Active Communities Manager and Contract team to lead the Active Communities Programme to drive levels of physical activity and sports participation within East Northamptonshire, optimising the utilisation of the leisure centres. Be responsible for the delivery of the Active Communities Framework to engage the key target groups within positive activity and the delivery of sustainable outreach programme that makes best use of community assets Work with partners to deliver opportunities for key target groups and areas of the Borough To manage the Sport, Community and Disability Coordinator and any relevant programme staff or coaches. To attract a minimum of 20k p.a in eternal funding to support the outcomes and aims of the service. Key relationships Group Active Communities Manager General Managers & Centre staff Area Manager Northamptonshire Sport Local Community Groups & Clubs National Governing Bodies Healthy & Active Lifestyles Officer Aquatics Business manager East Northamptonshire Council Public Health Educational Institutes Centre users Main Duties To be responsible and accountable for implementing the Freedom Leisure Active Communities Framework in line with the contract business plan and East Northampton Healthy & Active Lifestyle Strategy. Delivering agreed outcomes, building a strong, integrated service which identifies and meets the needs of the local community. To prioritise partnership working, establishing and maintaining links with organisations, locally, regionally and nationally, with a view to keeping abreast of good practice disseminating information to colleagues when required.

2 Ensure all pricing of programmes delivers value for money and accessibility for the user. Work with the Freedom Leisure regional Active Community team, across: o Development, in line with the group and regional frameworks o Marketing for promotion of programmes in line with global and regional plans o HR for recruitment of staff and volunteers o Finance sourcing eternal funding for programme delivery To represent Freedom Leisure at a range of community meetings. To develop integrated initiatives with the leisure teams to support generating sustainable activities. To manage and supervise staff on a day to day basis, ensuring performance potential is optimised and all work is carried out to the high standards set, and motivation and morale levels are high, utilising Human Resource policies and procedures for consistent practice. To ensure that the highest level of customer service is maintained at all times, by all team members. To capture and record the outcomes and successes of the service as required by Freedom Leisure, East Northamptonshire Council and Eternal Funders. To identify and secure a minimum of 20k p.a in eternal grants and funding for activity development, liaising with East Northamptonshire Eternal Funding Manager to identify appropriate funds. To be responsible for the financial management of grants, and monitoring of income and ependiture of programme delivery. To attend appropriate countywide partnerships to ensure Freedom Leisure is at the forefront of the local agenda. To report to the Group quarterly and annually on performance within East Northamptonshire in line with the Active Communities Framework. Management Communicate effectively with your team on a timely basis ensuring robust systems eist so that staff feel informed and involved. To have responsibility for risk management and health and safety in the workplace. To have responsibility for staff and volunteers within the Active Communities Service. General To fully participate in the performance review process and personal development planning. Undertake training as necessary in line with the development of the post and agreed with your line manager. Occasionally training or meetings are organised outside normal working hours. The post holder will be epected to attend whenever reasonably practicable. To achieve and demonstrate agreed standards of personal and professional development within agreed timescales. To undertake any other duties at the request of the line manager which are commensurate with the role, including project work, internal job rotation and absence cover.

4 Person Specification A Qualifications Essential Desirable Education to degree level or equivalent Qualification to National Governing Body level 1 Safeguarding & Child Protection, First Aid B Eperience At least 2 years eperience within a sports development based role Proven eperience with leading on key sport development and community programmes. Eperience of programme management, within budgets and leading on service level agreements C Knowledge, Skills, Competencies An awareness of the roles of Sports Partnerships, National Governing Body initiatives, the voluntary sector and Local Authorities. Good computer skills and understanding D Personal Attributes Well developed interpersonal skills Team orientated approach, able to work across organisation boundaries and demonstrate interest and be supportive of the work of staff To be able to work fleibly with a good level of autonomy, across a range of work areas at once Mobility to travel across the Borough Ecellent communication skills, able to think on your feet. Ecellent time management skills - able to deal with a number of priorities at once. A self starter who inspires others with their passion
