Your support and enthusiasm for the App has been overwhelming and we thank you for your patience in these final steps. This guide is designed to inform you about App features and answer questions you may have about it. We hope this will help you understand how the FertilityCare App will integrate seamlessly into your existing practice, making your work more effective and convenient. The FertilityCare App is Unique A 2016 ACOG article Evaluation of Smartphone Menstrual Cycle Tracking Using an Adapted Applications Scoring System cited that most free smartphone menstrual cycle tracking apps for patient uses are inaccurate. Few cite medical literature or health professional involvement. The FertilityCare App is different from other fertility tracking apps which focus on the app itself. The FertilityCare App will focus on the client, a trademark of the CREIGHTON MODEL FertilityCare System. It is quite unique as it integrates all components of the CrMS. The professional FCP will continue to direct, guide and support the client/couple in understanding their menstrual and fertility cycles. Read on for FAQs about the App! 1

2 WHAT IS THE FertilityCare APP? The Official FertilityCare App The FertilityCare App is a cutting-edge app that focuses on the needs of your clients, as users of the CREIGHTON MODEL FertilityCare System. The FertilityCare App provides you with the convenience, flexibility and security you deserve when it comes to something as personal as your health and fertility. HOW IS THIS APP DIFFERENT FROM OTHER FERTILITY TRACKING APPS? The FertilityCare App provides many features beyond just charting. It seamlessly weaves observations, charting and instructions as well as support and guidance from the FertilityCare Practitioner (FCP) into the app. Clients have access to the same professional standards they have come to expect from the CREIGHTON MODEL System (CrMS). WHAT ARE SOME OF THE FEATURES OF THE APP FOR MY CLIENTS? Convenience Access your chart wherever you have access to the internet Record your end of day observation in seconds View instructions assigned by your Practitioner Communicate with your Practitioner through a secure, internal messaging system Share your chart with your Practitioner with the click of a button Access your account from any device (Great for spouses!) 3 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS What system requirements do I need in order to use the app? The app is designed to work with Internet Explorer 11, Microsoft Edge and the most recent versions of Safari, Chrome and Firefox. Some clients and FCPs may need to update their browsers to ensure proper app function. When will the app be available? The release date for the app is not yet determined. We are close to the completion of programming and will announce the release date as soon as possible. What will the app cost for my clients? The cost of the app is $4.99 (USD)/month. In addition, clients will pay a one-time registration fee of $10 (USD). The low monthly cost of the app will not discourage clients from continuing to attend follow-ups, which is so important to their learning. How do I get access to the app? As a part of the CrMS teaching materials, the app is available to any Practitioner affiliated with an FCCA (FertilityCare Centers of America) center in good standing. As a web-based application, the FertilityCare App is purchased from the Pope Paul VI Institute s Publication Department rather than an App store. International affiliates will also have the opportunity to use the app with their clients. Can FCP interns utilize the app with their clients? Not at this point. Since the intern program is educational in nature, the focus will continue to be on learning to teach the system. Once an intern has graduated and becomes affiliated with an FCCA center, s/he may transfer clients to the app. Can a user access the app without having a FertilityCare Practitioner (FCP)? No, the FCP is essential to the client s learning and use of the system. Clients will be registered for the app through their FCP and will maintain an ongoing relationship with their FCP. Will my client still need to attend follow-ups if they are using the app? Yes! As has always been the case with the CrMS, the teaching of the system will occur in follow-ups. Follow-ups remain essential to the client s education and on-going success with the system. The app will never replace follow-ups in the CrMS. When can a client begin charting with the app? A client can begin charting with the app when she has completed a minimum of 5 follow-ups (3 months) of charting on a paper chart and has established good observations and charting. At his/ her discretion, the FCP may elect to delay use of the app until after the 5 th follow-up or indefinitely. Similarly, a client may elect to continue charting on a paper chart for a period of time or indefinitely. 3

4 Will FCPs receive training on app features? Yes, FCPs will have access to training videos and tech sheets on the use of the app. The education will be designed to support FCPs in their own use of the app and to assist them with supporting their clients use of the app. APP FUNCTIONALITY Will the app automatically correct charting errors? Will it automatically select a stamp? No, observations and charting will not be automated. A client can make errors in entering their observation from the VDRS and selecting a stamp. (For example, a client could choose 4Kx1.) These errors will allow the FCP to understand the client s actual use of the system and provide opportunity for education of the client. Changes can be made on the app and will be reflected as an edited day on the chart. How do I make corrections on the chart? Red pen and angled stamp corrections can still be made on a printed version of the client s chart. The same changes made in the app will be reflected as an edited day on the chart. These days will be marked with a slash in the upper left-hand corner of the stamp. The client and the FCP will be able to see both the original observation and the edited observation by clicking on the day. Will my client be able to see instructions? Yes, the FCP will enable instructions for the client by selecting them in the FCP s account. Can my client use yellow stamps? Yes, yellow stamps are enabled by the FCP when instructions for pre- and post-peak yellow stamps are given by the FCP. The same criteria will be used as if using a paper chart. Is there a place to record extra notes? Yes, a client may select Add Note when recording her observation and this will be recorded. The client/fcp will select Chart Notes to review any notes the client has made. Will the man be able to access the chart on his device? Yes, this is a web-based application. Both the man and woman may access the chart on any device (iphone, android, tablet, PC, mac, etc.) by logging into their account. Can a client share her chart with her FCP? With her NaProTechnology Provider? Yes, the client can share a snapshot of the chart with her FCP by clicking on the camera icon. A message will appear in the FCPs messages which will show the snapshot of the chart. In order to share the chart with her NaProTechnology Provider, she can download the chart and it. 4

5 Can I see my client s chart at any time? The client/couple s chart is their property and cannot be accessed on demand by the FCP. However, the client may send a snapshot of the chart at any point in time to the FCP through the app messaging system. What if the client discontinues the teaching relationship with her FCP or stops paying her subscription? What happens to the client s data? Discontinuations and transfers will be handled on a case by case basis. If a client discontinues her subscription, she will lose the ability to continue charting on the app. The Practitioner will change the client s status. The client will not, however, lose access to any previously charted data. Will the app be available in other languages? Yes, language translations will be available in future versions of the app. APP ISSUES / TROUBLESHOOTING Who do FCPs contact if they have questions regarding using the app? FCPs will receive training through tech sheets and videos that will be available in advance of release of the app. A communication link will be established to assist practitioners. Who do clients contact if they have questions regarding using app? Clients will contact their FCP with questions regarding their use of the app. Who do FCPs/clients contact if they have subscription issues with the app?
