Permanent Position description t Veganuary we love to inspire and support people to go vegan, cost-effectively and on a massive scale. We ve attracted masses of mainstream media coverage and developed great brand awareness in the UK, as well as publishing a best-selling book. We re now looking to increase our presence in the US and Canada, our second biggest market. To do this we re looking for a dynamic, creative and well-connected senior manager to head up our work in North merica. You ll be a driven campaigner well-versed with vegan advocacy; a natural networker with an enviable contact network; an opportunity-taker and opportunity-maker. This pivotal role for the organisation will build the Veganuary brand in North merica, building relationships with companies, donors, media and other stakeholders. You ll create social media campaigns and a new US-focused Veganuary pledge campaign. You ll deliver a PR and sales strategy for our inspirational book How To Go Vegan, and support Veganuary s January pledge campaign with great North merican content and ideas. nitially focusing on campaigns, as the sole member of staff currently dedicated to North merica your focus will in the medium term turn also to donor development and establishing Veganuary as a legal entity in the region. long the way you ll be supported by our growing UK-based staff team and have the opportunity to add to the North merican team as resources permit. This role is part of Veganuary s senior management team and reports directly to the CEO. This is a full-time freelance role, in contract with Veganuary, a UK-based non-profit. Once a legal entity (such as a 501(c)(3) organization) is created in the United States this contract will convert into a contract of employment with that entity. n 2019 we aim to help another 300,000 people try vegan with Veganuary. 2 bout Veganuary Veganuary is a UK-based non-profit that since 2014 has helped over 250,000 people in 193 countries try vegan. long the way we ve spared hundreds of thousands of animal lives, helped tackle untold environmental harm, and helped people transform their health and, in some cases, their lives. small but rapidly growing organisation, Veganuary has a forecast 2018/19 turnover of $1.3m and current headcount of ten. Our vision is a world where veganism is a mainstream lifestyle choice, with positive action at all levels of society and government to promote the benefits of a vegan lifestyle and support veganism. Our principle objective, to advance the education of the public in veganism, is primarily delivered via a vegan pledge. This sees members of the public encouraged to commit to a vegan diet for a 31 day period, supported by resources and regular communications from Veganuary. We also educate the public about veganism and animal cruelty through our website, social media channels, and media coverage. n addition, we undertake investigations into farmed animal welfare conditions. Of those Veganuary participants in 2018 that responded to our survey: 62% intend to stay vegan 82% said going vegan was easier than they expected 43% took part because of animal welfare / rights 67% said their overall health improved, and 99% would recommend Veganuary to others We attract people to take the pledge through our resource-filled website, through paid and organic social media promotion, through collaboration with other organisations and influencers, and through the mainstream media. ll staff members work from home, and all are currently based in the United Kingdom. Having achieved significant brand awareness and impact in the UK, we are increasing our focus on North merica as a target market. The role of Head of Campaigns, North merica will, if successful, be the vanguard of a much more substantial presence in the region in the coming years. Together, we are saving animals, reducing environmental harm, and supporting hundreds of thousands of people to live healthier lives.

3 Job description Campaigns: With the CEO, develop and implement a strategic plan for the region with measurable goals and objectives that align with the global strategic plan Deliver an impactful marketing and sales campaign for Veganuary s book How To Go Vegan, launching in the US in November Support delivery of the annual January pledge campaign, including by o providing bespoke content and insight for the North merican audience o managing a media campaign to maximize campaign exposure in North merica Lead the creation and delivery of a new, annual, US-focused vegan pledge campaign Represent Veganuary to media in the region Grow awareness of the Veganuary brand amongst stakeholders, influencers, the media, other advocacy organizations and potential supporters With the Partnerships Manager, o cultivate partnerships by building relationships with other campaigning organizations, influencers, celebrities and the media o manage relationships with partner organizations Build relationships with food brands such as restaurants, retailers and manufacturers, identifying opportunities for mutual benefit Represent Veganuary in varied fora such as national and international conferences, partner and donor meetings Work within the senior management team to identify key campaign opportunities to drive positive change Ensure that key campaign outcomes are evaluated and leveraged for maximum organizational impact Development: Work with the Founders, CEO and Head of Fundraising to build relationships with philanthropists and identify potential high net worth donors Prepare project plans and support the production of funding proposals for high net worth donors and foundations Work with the Head of Fundraising to develop and deliver a fundraising plan for North merica General s part of the Veganuary global senior management team, ensure the effective management of the organization, ensure delivery against our strategic plan, and champion the North merican audience in our global messaging and targeting Establish a non-profit legal entity in the US Effectively recruit, manage, and develop team members as resources permit Ensure that Veganuary adheres to all state and federal guidelines and regulations Undertake appropriate domestic or international travel to accomplish the responsibilities of the role Undertake any further duties that may reasonably be required of the role
