1 INTEGRATED SUPPORTS FOR LIVING, INC Job Description JOB TITLE Corporate Trainer/Quality Assurance Coordinator REPORTS TO Chief Executive Officer DEPARTMENT Corporate PAY CODE PG900 DATE REVISED January 5, 2018 PRIMARY PURPOSE The Corporate Trainer/Quality Assurance Administrator is responsible for delivering two important service components of IS Living staff development and service production: employee training and quality assurance. This position is expected to meet the training needs of a wide variety of employees ranging from on-boarding for entry-level positions to advanced training of senior-level staff. This position performs quality assurance assessments for all IS Living programs to assure consistent compliance with regulations, core competencies, Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs), and on-site surveys, ensures consistency of quality procedures between programs and makes recommendations on best practices. The delivery of these services is expected to be consistent with the financial and strategic goals of IS Living and to support of the mission of the organization to ensure that each individual we provide service to be afforded every opportunity possible to live their lives in a way which maximizes autonomy. ESSENTIAL TRAINING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Work collaboratively with departments, subject-matter experts, and members of the Executive Team to design, develop, evaluate, and implement effective learning solutions that are role- and task-based, Utilize professional presentation skills and passion to create an engaging and compelling learning experience compatible with multiple learning styles, Effectively incorporate new methods of learning, instructional techniques, and instructional technologies to develop new, exciting and compelling learning solutions, Schedule and coordinate all training, including publish and distribute training schedules Produce learning materials and articulate key concepts in a clear manner. Collaborate with Program Coordinators & Program Managers to develop training and procedures for new employee staff shadowing training, monitor implementation of work-site training and, competency testing, and to assure processes are consistent across work sites, 1

2 Perform assessments to ensure coursework is effective and to inform development of future courses and learning experiences, Brief Program Managers regarding employee performance during training, Participate in brainstorming and strategy meetings to help identify new courses, goals, and directions for ongoing course development, Assure timely incorporation of changes in regulations, rules, laws, agency policies, procedures and best practices and expectations into training curriculum, Track successful training completion by employee, including maintaining required documentation and databases (DSP Core Comp Master, Work-site Training Checklist, Competency Testing Checklist, etc.), Continually improve presentation skillsets, provide peer-review sessions, Manage storage of all training materials with a focus on sustainability and use of electronic mediums. ESSENTIAL QUALITY ASSURANCE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Propose revisions to in-house quality procedures, standards and specifications with a focus on ensuring that quality requirements will be fulfilled, Develop, implement and maintain a quality management system that encompasses overall program performance and activities, Assure customer/client needs are accurately assessed, Systematically monitor and evaluate services and facilities to ensure that standards of quality are being met, Interpret and implement quality assurance standards and draft quality assurance policies and procedures, Assure timely compliance with industry regulatory requirements, Monitor pertinent regulations, OARs, current trends and best practices in the industry and recommend timely updates to service provisions, Periodically verify consistency of IS Living policies and procedures with pertinent regulation and OARs, (?) Coordinate and support on-site audits conducted by external providers, evaluate findings and collaborate with program management to implement appropriate corrective actions, Conduct regular internal compliance reviews of paper and electronic records including GERs, MARs, health tracking, appointment logs, ISP and related support documents, Conduct monthly reviews of medical and nursing support plans for appropriate structure, proper documentation, (timeliness, legible, logical, complete, etc.), and verify follow-up is complete and consistent, Schedule bi-annual program self-assessment audits for all programs, Document audits, inspections and other quality assurance activities, Collect and compile statistical quality data, analyze to identify areas for improvement, and prepare reports to communicate outcomes, Partner with program management to develop, recommend and monitor corrective and preventive action plans, Investigate customer complaints and non-compliance issues, 2

3 OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Meet deadlines consistently in a fast-paced environment with multiple assignments, Define timely project schedules and manage multiple projects simultaneously, Participate in ongoing professional training and meetings as required, Complete and submit timely and accurate time reports, mileage reimbursements, and perform administrative functions necessary to conduct business as requested, Maintain a courteous, punctual and professional manner in all aspects of job performance, Actively participate on at least one committee in support of corporate initiatives as opportunities arise, Enthusiastically accepts other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor s degree in related field OR, six (6) year of hands-on experience providing services to IDD populations OR, two (2) years of hands-on experience providing services to IDD populations PLUS Associates degree or equivalent coursework in related field, Four (4) or more years of experience delivering training, employee development, and quality assurance activities, Demonstrated knowledge of key instructional design concepts, practices, and learning principles, Experience developing course content in a variety of formats including instructor-led, webbased, and blended learning solutions, Working knowledge of all pertinent OARs and regulations related to program operation, Current certification as CPR, OIS, and Person-centered instructor (or become certified within 90-days of accepting position), Demonstrated competency in navigating staff training programs (ilearn, Relias, etc.), Experience in managing databases related to staff training and quality assurance, Excellent verbal and written skills, Open to continuous self-improvement, Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to develop relationships and serve as a trusted colleague and resource to internal and external partners, Driven to constantly master new topics and open to new challenges, and continuous selfimprovement, Problem analysis and problem solving, planning and organizing skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently with little oversight, Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Background in behavioral health and/or aptitude for IT a plus, Successful clearance of local and or state background checks.
