2 ABOUT KEDS Kosovo Energy Distribution Services J.S.C (KEDS) has the exclusivity of distribution of electricity. KEDS J.S.C is owned by prestigious Turkish companies Çalik Holding and Limak. KEDS company is distributed in seven divisions located in seven major cities of Kosovo and 30 sub districts, including the municipalities of the country. Within KEDS are included Medium voltage Lines 35 kv, 10 kv and 6 kv (kilovolt) along with respective substations, Substations 10/0.4 kv, Low Voltage Lines 0.4 kv, and over 485 thousand individual meters of customers.

3 REGULATION OF OSH IN KEDS Unit of OSH in KEDS is made (composed) in headquarter level with employees in seven (7) districts. This staff takes care for OSH for all employees of company. OSH in KEDS is regulated through: Law no. 04/L-161 for Occupational Safety and Health; Regulations that derive from Law for OSH; Labor Law no. 03/L-212; Regulation for OSH in KEDS. All OHS activities are based on: Standard ISO for management of quality for OSH (which is transferred from OSHAS 18001); Standard ISO for managing of environment; Standard ISO 9001 for managing of quality.

4 PURPOSE AND MISSION The main purpose of OSH is: Prediction and elimination of accidents; Create better conditions for keeping the work environment unpolluted; Acquisition of mechanization and automation in technological processes; OSH includes measures and tools to create safe working conditions that are accomplished by avoiding: The causes of injuries; Illnesses; Invalidity; Deadly cases in the work process. KEDS is continuously committed to provide employees a safe working environment with a mission to record zero accidents at work.

5 METHODOLOGY OF WORK AND CONTROL OF HAZARDOUS FACTORS KEDS is based in these methods for ensuring / providing safe work environment: Method of dressing (wearing) in work place; Correct manipulating of equipment; Attitude / habits (expressions) towards work; Implementation of instructions / orders given for OSH. In KEDS elimination of hazardous factors is done through: Engineering controls in work place, work environment, tools / equipment, and also in designing of work; Administrative controls; Control of work practices in using of machineries, appropriate methods of work; Personal protective equipment (PPE).

6 RISK ASSESSMENT The risk assessment for each position has started to take place since 2014 and has continued to be reviewed periodically, after each accident or hazardous case. The company has invested in certification of persons as OSH experts in year 2017 and has fulfilled legal requirements in this occasion. According to the Law, continually it will be done: Risk assessment and compilation of risk assessment document; Systematic inspection and testing of working tools (means); Prepare the implementation of the employee training program. Systematic medical control: All employee do the medical control based on the Law of OSH; The medical control is carried out in Institute of Occupational Medicine.

7 PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT The number of equipment and work tools has increased year by year and all are intended to protect workers during the work process. Each employee is equipped with personal protective equipment as well as those team equipment. All personal protective equipment is tested according to the technical specifications. All facilities (objects) are equipped with: Signs (precaution/care, obligatory, prohibitions, ensure conditions/emergency, EMA); First aid; Fire extinguishers apparatuses, emergency exits, emergency plans; Instructions for the operation and others manuals for OSH and EMA.

9 PROTECTION EQUIPMENT IN SUBSTATIONS Protection equipment and work tools that are located in all substations of KEDS.

10 INSPECTION OF EMPLOYEES, OBJECTS AND ACCIDENTS The purpose of inspection at work place is to recognize and evaluate the existing and potential risks in the workplace, to take precautionary (preventive) measures to accidents as early as possible. The process of inspection of employees and objects it s done by check lists designed for each employee / team and object, as an evaluation tool (mean) during the inspection. This has resulted in an efficient inspection methodology in order to: Identification and evidencing of current and potential hazard; Recording any hazard that requires immediate attention; Determining whether existing risk controls are adequate and functional; Recommendation of corrective and preventive actions.

11 INSPECTION OF EMPLOYEES, OBJECTS AND ACCIDENTS Inspection of accidents during the work process is done every time and for each accident after all the findings, the source / cause of the accident is concluded. Of great importance KEDS is also dedicated to near miss incident, where all cases presented are handled (treated). Based on the inspection report of the accident or near miss incident, immediate actions (measures) are taken. For all these is required a database, so a program is created by KEDS itself, where all documents and findings are stored and monitored. Investment in personal protective equipment, work means and tools, periodic training, workplace guidelines, etc., has resulted in decreasing the number of injuries every year and especially in the 2018, around 50 % comparing with last year.

12 DEVELOPMENT OF SKILLS AND TRAINING In accordance with requirements of company continually are prepared trainings that will help in development of technical skills and awareness for OSH. In addition to training, mentoring at the workplace has contributed to the improvement and awareness of employees as a need to adapt organizational changes and not just that. 13 TRAINING CENTER Recently KEDS has inaugurated in Drenas the Training Center, respectively in substation Business Park. Training of employees of KEDS will continue in Training Center, for which are created modules of training. Except the employees of KEDS, in center can be trained also employees of contractors, students and pupils from topic (matter) of electrical engineering. The purpose of forming this center is to help KEDS in achieving the objective of company with zero accidents at work. In this center are placed all types of poles and switchgears (facilities). The trainees will have same feeling with reality, which is calculated it increases safety and efficiency of training.
