We re passionate about developing new talent and recognise how important this is to our future. APPRENTICES & TRAINEES Over the last eight years, we ve trained over 40 apprentices and trainees. 4 TRADE APPRENTICESHIPS These are real hands-on apprenticeships where you ll be learning a trade from experienced and qualified tradespeople, who will help you to develop your skills to the highest standards. Our trade apprenticeships will give you a thorough grounding in your chosen trade. Qualifications: Nationally recognised industry qualifications including a diploma relevant to your discipline, and a minimum NVQ Level 2. We offer trade apprenticeships in Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical, Plastering, Roofing and Painting & Decorating. Duration: 1-3 years (depending on any previous college study or NVQ qualifications you may have already obtained). Experience: Paid, on-the-job training and work experience with local collegebased study. Ieuan Matthews is from Trebanog and is a carpentry apprentice with Trivallis. CASE STUDY He said: This is my second apprenticeship with Trivallis. At the moment, I m working in void properties on the kitchens and doors and I m learning new skills every day. 5 OFFICE-BASED APPRENTICESHIPS These provide vital business and admin support to Trivallis. As well as gaining invaluable work experience, you ll be given a challenging role with responsibilities of your own; plenty of opportunity to use your initiative. portfolio of evidence based on the work that you ll be doing. You ll attain the NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or Customer Service (depending on which is most suitable for the role you are working in). Duration: An initial month contract Experience: Depending on the department you are placed with you ll learn a variety of different skills and appreciate the vital role our support services play in the success of our organisation. Qualifications: These are entirely work based. You ll be visited at work by an NVQ assessor and put together a James Jones lives in one of Trivallis homes in Glyncoch. CASE STUDY In 2014, after being unemployed for 5 years, he started his apprenticeship. James said: Choosing a Trivallis apprenticeship meant I could gain a qualification whilst earning a competitive salary. It s helped me to develop a number of administration skills as well as my confidence. I completed an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration and have since gained a permanent full time role at Trivallis as Learning & Development Systems Administrator. I d definitely recommend a Trivallis Futures apprenticeship to anyone looking to take the next step on their career ladder.

6 HOMES & NEIGHBOURHOODS APPRENTICESHIPS This could be your ideal first step on the career ladder in the housing field. This rewarding profession will enable you to work with people and change lives for the better. If you re a people person who enjoys being out and about, this could be the apprenticeship for you. effective record keeping. You ll have the opportunity to develop skills in communication, coaching and mentoring, problem solving and project management, self-management and Emily Johnson started her apprenticeship when she was 21 years old after spending three years at University studying Geography. CASE STUDY Emily said: I chose to do an apprenticeship so I could work and learn at the same time, whilst also building a career. My day to day role varies as a Homes and Neighbourhoods apprentice. 7 SURVEYING APPRENTICESHIPS Join our asset management team, made up of surveyors, contract managers and property data experts. This team is responsible for coordinating and planning improvements to Trivallis housing stock of around 10,000 properties. Qualifications: You ll complete an NVQ Level 3 in surveying in partnership with a local college providing you with the ideal pathway to a career in building surveying or further academic study. Duration: 24 Months Experience: Learn about all aspects of property surveying, including building design, contract administration, cost control, construction law, and health and safety. Surveying completed works, conducting site visits and property inspections and producing data and reports will all be in a day s work for you. Stephen Wilson was a self-employed roofer. After a decline in work, he decided to try his hand at volunteering. CASE STUDY In 2011, Steve joined Trivallis as a volunteer yard supervisor. Through Trivallis development programme, Stephen undertook training and worked his way up the career ladder to a managerial role. He said: I m now a Trivallis surveyor and have recently completed my Chartered Institute Of Builders Chartership, which is an internationally recognised accreditation. If I can do it, I think anybody can, with the support you d receive from Trivallis.
