2 A major reformative action, Digitalized India-A venture in Cashless Transaction, an initiative taken by the present Central Government, MHRD, enabled Jamshedpur Women's College to spread the knowledge of Cashless Transaction- "A Journey towards Cashless Transaction in Campus continues".. This initiative is a game changer that gives a new direction to the socio-economic aspects of India and subsequently the institution. The Schedule of MHRD was followed in full form and the dream of having an e-wallet materialized volunteers took the initiative to educate people in the tribal belt of Jharkhand and the journey continues With this initiative the college adds a new feather in its 'beautiful' and 'ever widening' cap. The combined effort of one and all adds to the expected success story of this initiative. 2

Background and Objective : Jamshedpur Women's College recognizes the need to use the network of knowledge institution for propagating the benefits of cashless, digital means of payment, both within the college and in the neighbourhood. 4 Educating students about cashless transaction II. Strategy : 1. This campaign was forwarded by the 1597 volunteers (registered up to 14 th Dec. 2016), in the 10 villages of the tribal belt of Jharkhand on 6 th Dec and educated more than 16,000 people about importance of cashless transactions. Volunteers facilitating knowledge about digital financial literacy 2. Students were thought about digital financial literacy as an opportunity to bring about social change as they are builders of the future India to free it from black money, corruption and providing transparent economic system. The students forwarded the notion that everyone and anyone in the country could adopt digital methods of payment. Workshop on Gateway Payment 4

5 3. Gateway Payment and POS are the modes of digital payment option of cashless transaction within the campus of Jamshedpur Women's College. Major stakeholders of Vittiya Saksharta Abhiyan : The campaign involved the Principal Dr. Shukla Mahanty, faculty, Support Staff, Bank and most importantly the students. IV. Institutional component of strategy : 1. The college converted the campus into full digital mode for all receipts and payments in the organization. This includes fees, fines, payment of salary in the college including hostels, vendors, canteen and book stall which was declared on 11 th January 2017 as cashless transaction campus. 5

She has been able to obtain the cooperation of the bank especially in activities like opening of new accounts, issue of prepaid cards enabling the students to access financial transaction. The staff and faculty of the institution have turned fully digital themselves in their cash transaction and educated family and society. V. Role of Student Volunteers : 1. The students especially the NSS and NCC volunteers have engaged in facilitating the knowledge of cashless mode of making payment to the 6

7 community. The digital financial literacy material available on the college website is translated into regional languages for proper dissemination in the respective areas. Each student volunteer made an effort to convey and explain the benefits of the cashless transaction mode to 10 families each. VI. Area approach : 1. The student volunteers played a major role in the area approach of the campaign in villages named Bagbera, Matladih, Ranidih, 7

8 Beradhipa, Jagannathpur, Haldipokhar in Singhbhum district of Jharkhand and in one kanor market centres Bistupur in Jamshedpur. (Where maximum cash transaction is taking place as Jamshedpur is an industrial town) An attempt was made to turn all shops and establishment into digitally functioning payment receivers. 9 3. All these proceedings have been under the guidance of the dynamic Principal Dr. Shukla Mahanty of Jamshedpur Women's College. VII. Role of employers : The Principal Dr. Shukla Mahanty encouraged all the wage workers to open a bank account as it is their right. The workers of hostels, canteen, book stall, stationary shop have been educated to accept the use of digital mode of payment. VIII. Ministry of HRD s Web Space on Vittiya Saksharta Abhiyan : The official website of the VISAKA is accessible to students and provides enough facility for reporting progress or experiencing any problem faced by them. More than 150 video clips and photograph have been sent to the website. 9

10 Journey towards Cashless Transaction Campus continues.. Communication of the college. The initiative was taken by the college under the directives of MHRD a car by Hon'ble Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi for bringing in Cashless Transaction in Digitalized India. 11 th January. A new mile was added in rich history of high accomplishments of Women's College Hon'ble Education Minister Dr. Neera Yadav inaugurated Internet Payment Gateway and released a documentary their on the "Journey Towards Cashless Transaction" which was prepared by the Department of Mass 12 th January on the occasion of birth Anniversary of the Youth icon of India Swami Vivekanand, celebrated as Yuva Divas the college paid tribute to the iconic reformer, connecting with the sharing the experiences of today's Youth in their Journey towards Cashless Transaction. A prominent social Activist Mr. Lalit Das honoured the event with his presence and given inspirational speech highlighting the responsibilities of today's youth. He acknowledged and appreciated the immense contribution of women's college under the mentorship of Dr. Shukla Mahanty in this regard. Now we can proudly day that our campus including the hostels, canteen, stationary ship, book shop totally 10

11 digitalized having acquired POS machines. All these achievements is to be uploaded in the college website.
