7 APSO Affiliations and Memberships As a founding member of the Confederation of Associations in the Private Employment Sector (CAPES), APSO is actively involved in lobbying and advocating initiatives to regulate the industry and us such we are represented in a number of forums including Business Unity South Africa (BUSA), NEDLAC, Services SETA and National Skills Authority (NSA), amongst others. We are a proud member of the South African Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SACCI) and are involved in a diverse range of committees and initiatives. Since 2008, we have forged a close relationship with the Ethics Institute of South Africa, which has vetted our Code of Ethics procedures. Our membership with them makes it possible for us to ensure that our internal procedures for managing best practice and values amongst members is on par with, or better than, local and international best practice standards. Across the globe, we are well respected, and have, for more than 20 years, held the seat for Africa and the Near East on the Board of the International Confederation of Private Employment Agencies (CIETT) actively involving ourselves in international initiatives to drive compliance, professionalism and effective regulation for the sector.
