1 Press Release Managing Challenges Across Cultures A Multicultural Project Team Toolbox Shanghai, October The sixth PMI (China) Congress was successfully held in in Shanghai International Convention Center. More than 2000 excellent project managers from different companies gathered together to join this event. Mr. Roberto Guida, Head of Comau Contracts and Projects, of was invited to attend this event and speak. He shared information about Comau s new book Managing Challenges Across Cultures - A Multicultural Project Team Toolbox, PM Academy and our project management training. About the New Book: The new book titled Managing Challenges Across Cultures - A Multicultural Project Team Toolbox is another success after Comau s first publication of Project And People Management. It is the result of the collaboration between Comau, a company that holds a leadership position on a global level in the field of Industrial Automation, and TCO International, a professional consulting company specialized for over 25 years in the creation of tools and strategies to develop competencies and transversal skills that are useful in facing the new challenges of the global world. The creation of Managing Challenges Across Cultures - A Multicultural Project Team Toolbox is based on the firm belief that culture is not only the result of a university education, but also cultivated and developed in the workplace every day, and then spread profitably outside the company. Mr. Roberto Guida Speaking in Main Session

2 PMI China Director Bob Chen and Roberto Guida The authors, Roberto Guida, Head of Contract & Project Management in Comau, David Trickey, Founding Partner of TCO International, and Ezio Fregnan, HR Training Manager at Comau, have produced the book based on the results of an ambitious multi- year program conducted by the Comau Project Management Academy together with TCO International. This program was designed to develop a new generation of project managers able to influence and govern, within the projects under their responsibility, both the strictly technical aspects, as well as the human and relational aspects, of the teams they guide. In fact, Comau learned long ago the importance of cultivating knowledge not only in technology but also in management, when aiming to be truly effective in running a business especially if it develops within a multinational context. The multicultural project team toolbox is divided into two main sections. The first focuses on the multicultural challenges a company must face. The second gives readers a true multicultural toolbox, offering them the core of Comau s concrete experience through a story that unfolds in three different chapters: Building a Project Team on the definition and launch of a project; Managing a Project Team, which deals with the management of the project in an intercultural context; and finally, Learning from a Project Team, which includes questionnaires, discussions and practical conclusions. The publication, published in English by McGraw- Hill and available as of October in bookstores, online and in an e- book version, will be publically unveiled at the EMO MILANO tradeshow (scheduled October 5-10, 2015).

3 New Book Managing Challenges Across Cultures Comau Academy Learning Programs We hope to improve our employees skills, especially project managers through project training. Meanwhile, we also want to share our practical experience and research results with the industry to provide practical guidance, said Mr. Guida during the PMI Comau Media Conference held October 24. Comau s core asset is our employees and their core competencies. Comau Academy's forty plus years of experience allow us to play a leadership role in competency development. Comau Academy has designed some programs for skills development: Project Management Academy Master in Industrial Automation Master in Industrial Automation Management Business School Master Project and People Management School 2015 PMI Comau Media Conference

4 Project Management Case: When we cooperate with customers, if we consider excellent technical solutions, best quality products and relatively low cost as hard power, then perhaps software like project management will bring surprise to customers, or even avoid extra trouble. When asked about Comau s successful example of project management, Comau Asia Pacific COO Mr. Eugenio Spinolo gave us a detailed case. An interesting example, which we are really proud of, is a project for our customer Fujian Benz. The project is about the retooling of the welding line for the Viano, for Mercedes- Benz minivan model. The challenge was to perform this exchange without impacting the regular production. So it was decided to perform the phase out of the old line and phase in of the new one during the recent National Holiday week, at the beginning of October. You know, despite short time, we got it. All activities required to be planned and shared in details with the customer (there was no margin of error). Our customer trusted the quality of our project management approach and they followed us: that created a win- win situation. By the way, the level of maturity of our project management is so recognized by our customers that from time to time they may ask us for project management training: this is another thing we are proud of! Except for the main forum speech and Comau media conference, Comau also arranged to have a booth onsite to provide another channel and platform for attendees to know Comau and communicate. Team of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) Mr. Lin Shaopei, came to visit the Comau booth and took pictures with Comau management and our new book.
