We achieve this with, and through our local network of youth sector organisations, brought together through our merger with Oxfordshire Children s Voluntary Youth Service (OCVYS), together reaching over 6000 young people. Oxfordshire Youth are in an exciting period of development and our Young Leaders Programme is at the heart of this. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is a new role for Oxfordshire Youth with the aim of raising the profile of Oxfordshire Youth s work and in particular, the Young Leaders Programme. This role is initially funded for 6 months but we expect this to be an ongoing post - there are key performance targets to be met for us to receive further funding. We are looking for a committed and experienced person to help OY to take its work to another level of activity. The post-holder is responsible for ensuring excellent external communication and public relations (for example through our website, social media, press work, newsletters, annual reports & printed publicity) and that there is good communication internally within the organisation (for example through information updates relating to implementation of the marketing strategy and signing off staff s external communications such as press releases and blog articles). The two main objectives are:

2 Objective 1 To coordinate all public relations, marketing and communications for Oxfordshire Youth Objective 2 To focus on external promotion of our leadership and participation offer for young people and to support OY to meet its targets, as set out in the Young Leaders Business Plan. Main duties and responsibilities General Review and implement the agreed 2019 Oxfordshire Youth Marketing and Communications Plan, coordinating with all members of staff on content for their areas Develop and implement new ideas for raising the profile of OY with customers, beneficiaries, stakeholders and funders Develop Oxfordshire Youth s Marketing and Communications Plan for 2020 Monitor and report on Oxfordshire Youth s public relations, marketing and communications data External Communication Co-ordinating effective communication with the wider world (including members, funders, external agencies, and the general public). This includes marketing, communications and public relations as follows: Marketing Ensuring that Oxfordshire Youth s branding is upheld in all aspects of external communication including all materials produced by other staff (in print, online). Creating publicity for our services that is of a high quality and communicates an effective and positive message, including large scale events such as Oxfordshire Youth wards and Youth in Mind. Developing integrated marketing campaigns and overseeing the strategic distribution of publicity materials. Communications Producing and disseminating regular external communications with stakeholders (currently a monthly e- newsletter - Sector Insider and a bi-annual supporter s e-newsletter) plus to develop targeted communications for Young Leaders and other services delivered by Oxfordshire Youth. Produce the organisation s nnual Impact Report. Ensuring that the website is maintained, updated and developed as necessary. Leading and developing Oxfordshire Youth s online presence through social media and any other relevant channels. This is a key area in need of development. Supporting staff to build video content for marketing Public Relations

3 Working with the Chief Executive Officer to co-ordinate the organisation s public relations, develop the organisation s public profile, increase our media presence and deal with media enquiries and act as a spokesperson where needed. To source a column in a local newspaper and work with the staff to produce content for this. Information Support the production of the online directory for youth services in Oxfordshire. To ensure that our communications are up to date with current news and research from a wide range of youth related bodies and partners. Young Leaders Programme (YLP) (funding for this post is reliant on an increase in external engagement with YLP). To work closely with the Business Development Manager to understand, segment, and engage customers for YLP Develop targeted marketing communications messages aimed at new audiences for YLP at both a local and a national level Implement marketing and communications messages via the website, targeted communications, printed publicity Monitor and report on YLP-specific marketing and communications data Oxfordshire Youth To attend team meetings and regular supervision meetings with the Line Manager. To liaise and work alongside other team members and to maintain good inter-agency links. To ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with Oxfordshire Youth s guidelines, policies and procedures. To undergo training that will enable personal and workforce development. To undertake any other relevant duty related to the further development, promotion and sustainability of the organisation as agreed with the Chief Executive. Person Specification

4 Qualifications and Experience Has completed a marketing and communications type qualification or training or working towards a qualification Experience of running marketing campaigns Experience of a producing and disseminating communications materials to a high standard track record of marketing to raise an organisations profile and generate income Monitoring and evaluating experience full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle Knowledge and understanding of youth work Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including being able to positively engage and influence others Strong writing skills are essential high level of attention to detail bility to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities Confident user of IT, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, dobe InDesign and Photoshop, WordPress, Mailchimp Confident user of social media platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram flexible approach to work including a willingness to take on tasks outside the normal remit and to work irregular hours, travel or Measured by pplication () or Interview (I) & I & I & I & I I
