14 Challenges I Faced As a Woman Entrepreneur FACT Defying Social Expectations Working in the wrong environment may cause some women to adopt a stereotypically male aggressive and harsh attitude. Advice Be yourself and don t conform yourself to a man s idea of what a leader should look like Never compare your success to a man business model, its not a fair comparison. Look up to successful women models! 3/20/2018 International SIA Conference 14

15 Challenges I Faced As a Woman Entrepreneur Balancing Business & Family Life Perception You could be more effective running your business if you didn t have to deal with family commitments Advice Time management and devote time to both to truly achieve a successful and fulfilling work-life balance You re not at war and you re not being evaluated, take successful baby steps and it s perfectly natural to feel overwhelmed from time to time 3/20/2018 International SIA Conference 15

16 Challenges I Faced As a Woman Entrepreneur Lack Of Support Fact Majority of leadership positions are taken by men even though the number of female business owners is increasing, i.e less women to go for support and create business deals with. Advice Seek networking programs like Women Entrepreneurs of Egypt to network, cooperate and do business. Priority to hire qualified female calibers in your company to encourage the engagement of women. 3/20/2018 International SIA Conference 16

17 Does Your Company Really Support Women Employees? Extending equal pay for work of equal value Enforcing measures to combat sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace Providing fair maternity, paternity and parental leaves and benefits Offering flexible working hours: Flexibility goes beyond letting someone work from 10 to 6 instead of 9 to 5: It requires allowing employees to adjust their schedules, without penalty, for whatever life throws at them sick children, sick parents, school plays, whatever as long as they are producing results. Offer a safe and attractive working environment(consider an industrial park) 3/20/2018 International SIA Conference 17
