Time will be spent at the Primary Campus Job Purpose: (Why does this job exist?) The Safety, Risk & Compliance Senior Officer s will provide the effective coordination of safety, risk and compliance at the College The role assists with all aspects of safety and risk management including assisting with the completion and maintenance of risk assessments and risk and compliance registers and reporting through the College Risk Management System (Complispace). Key tasks will include the co ordination of risk and mandatory training, compliance audits and investigations as required to assist the Business Manager to drive a culture of continuous improvement. They will be a highly skilled office administrator, have excellent IT skills and act as an autonomous worker with the capacity for self direction within the Safety,Risk & Compliance area. This is a new role which will evolve.

Tertiary qualifications in safety and risk management. Current driver s license Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources First Aid for Schools or Senior First Aid Certificate (if nominated First Aid/ Health Care Officer) Current return to work Coordinator Certificate Understanding of Complispace (Risk Management System), Preceda (HR System) and Learning Manager (Mandatory Training System) SCHEDULING SKILLS What skills does the incumbent require in this job to plan, prioritise, monitor and assign tasks? 4 DUTIES: Risk: Assist with the completion and maintenance of risk assessments and risk and compliance registers Co ordinate risk training, compliance audits and investigations as required to assist the Business Manager to drive a culture of continuous improvement Provision of risk management and compliance assistance to the College Leadership Team; Assist with the implementation and compliance with processes and procedures to ensure the College s obligations (regulatory, legal and operation) are met; Support in creating a robust risk management and compliance culture in the College; Provide guidance to staff in the areas of risk and compliance; Administer the compliance system for policy, risk and incident management; Assist with comprehensive trend and status reporting on risk and compliance to Leadership and Board; Assisting College staff to complete Critical Incident documentation in relation to excursions, camps and College events. Assist in the development, review and implementation of the College s Risk Management Strategy; Investigate and provide direction in all compliance related matters and ensure that the College is compliant in all areas Provide check of consistency, completeness and integrity of risk assessments and management plans; Develop, review and update compliance policies and procedures; Monitor progress of risk mitigations and compliance activities; Be responsible for the general functional operation of compliance and together with the Business Manager provide input to the Compliance & Risk strategic direction of the College; Work with all staff to promote a culture of compliance in all aspects of the College s operation; Safety: The administration of the WH&S program, in conjunction with the Principal (or nominee) and WH&S Committee where applicable; Take minutes at WHS Committee and distribute Support the Director of Human Resources in regard to Return to Work Coordination Liaising with the Maintenance personnel as directed by the Business Manager or WHS Forum to ensure the maintenance of any place or equipment designated; Providing WHS services within the context of the legislative requirements as advised by CESA and the Principal; Recruitment and training of Fire Wardens; Have visible presence at both campus regarding safety inspections Provide induction WHS training information for volunteers, employees and contractors working in the College, in line with the needs of the College and license requirements; Ensure that all employees, contractors, volunteers, invitees and students receive appropriate information/training to use designated places, materials and equipment safely within the College; Ensure that all contractors are appropriately licensed and insured for the work that they are undertaking; Lead the development and maintenance of best practice WHS culture; Maintain databases as identified by the Business Manager, providing information or data as required to ensure compliance with all reporting and recording requirements of the Catholic Church Exempt License; Be aware of and obtain access to expert WHS advice via CESA Consultants; Participate in workplace safety inspections and audits ensuring that relevant WHS registers and records are maintained; Encourage all staff to be pro active in the implementation of early interventions systems; Complete all administrative tasks accurately and on time including record keeping; Coordinate fire and evacuation drills for both Beverley and Henley Beach Campuses; Assist with the development and review of emergency procedures and routine exercises. Assist with external audits and review WHS management systems as required. Prepare WHS reports for the College Board

Police Checks Oversee the administrative processes of Police Checks for the college Advise the HR Director of any emerging issues in relation to Police Checks and or non compliance of College personnel undertaking police checks Adhere to the associated legislative requirements and the requirements set by the Catholic Archdiocese of Adelaide in regards to Police Checks Human Resources and Training Monitor all mandatory training and registrations, including adding training to the Preceda Database and arranging training as required. This includes Teacher Registrations and not limited to First Aid, RAN, Fire Wardens, Contact Officers, Return to Work Other duties as directed by the Director of Human Resources Actively participate in training and personal development Attend team meetings Significant Working Relationships: (Who does this job interact with on a regular basis?)
