5 Member Spotlight Cynthia Allison New Member Cynthia started with Charlotte Behavioral Health Care as the HR Administrative Assistant in 2008, supporting the HR Director and a staff of approximately 185 employees. Her current position is HR Generalist and her focus is on recruiting, new hire on-boarding; supporting employee relations, on-site trainings; audits and reporting, assisting with employee benefits, and with HR initiatives. Cynthia has been in the HR field for 23 years, and is grateful for the interesting jobs, co-workers and learning experiences she has had so far. When asked what prompted Cynthia to get into the Human Resource field, she said that back in the day she took a Personnel course in college, as she was not sure what she wanted to pursue. She ended up taking everything HR related that she could towards a degree, as she found it interesting and challenging. She found that every day presented different challenges and the ability to assist on many levels. She says that her greatest sources of job satisfaction is that our efforts can become improvements that benefit the staff and the agency; and being able to interact with all levels of the agency to support our missions. Cynthia is a brand new member to CCSHRM this year. She is only one course shy of Certified Employee Benefits Specialist. Her future goal is to continue to gain experience in her current position and she is considering her options for a certification. Cynthia and her husband relocated here from Maryland several years ago, mainly for family reasons. She is a big tennis fan, and loves to play. Please welcome Cynthia to CCSHRM! WW Page #5
