1 INFORMATION & OUTRACH COORINATOR Job escription and Person Specification JOB TAILS: Job Title: Information & Outreach Coordinator Salary: 28,000 per annum pro rata, with occasional evening and weekend work Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week) Location: London Reports To: RC Chief xecutive Responsible For: The Information & Outreach Co-ordinator has a key role to play in planning and delivering promotional activities to raise awareness of the ast uropean Resource Centre project funded by the BLF Reaching Communities. The post-holder will be responsible for planning and delivering engagement activities to target stakeholders of the project: user groups, external stakeholders and the project volunteers. This will be achieved through communication via digital channels (the website, social media), print and online materials (newsletter, information leaflets) as well as through forums, networking, outreach and learning sessions. BACKGROUN RC provides voice and resources to disadvantaged, impoverished and excluded migrants from Central and astern urope settled in London from the 2004 onwards. That includes people who need advice and practical support to access services, who are unaware of their rights as U citizens and migrant workers in substandard housing or at risk of homelessness, and other socially excluded or destitute migrants who need culturally sensitive help in a familiar language. RC has been helping astern uropean () migrants in London since 1984 and is the only specialist charity helping these migrants in areas of information, advice and advocacy provided to strict quality standards. ast uropean Resource Centre is a new project funded by Big Lottery Fund that builds on our experience and expertise, and takes our services to the higher level by aligning awareness raising and practical support with skills development and creating potential for better integration among the most disadvantaged, impoverished and excluded astern uropean Londoners. The Project The project is a comprehensive response to the needs of migrants who face disadvantage and/or vulnerable due to lack of awareness of their rights and entitlements. The key emphasis of the project is on helping migrants maximise their income by finding better jobs or, if work is not a possibility, through claiming rightful welfare aid. This support aims to help prevent the risk of homelessness and destitution, thanks to which they are in a position to get involved with their communities and become better integrated as equal and respected residents. To achieve this aim the project comprises a set of activities, among them: 1) tailored skills-aligned advice, 2) IT tutorials facilitating independent use of internet for job search and other opportunities, 3) nglish classes tailored to job hunting, 4) intensive outreach to target users through online tools and physical outreach sessions and surgeries, 5) a volunteering component: Peer ducators, 6) engagement of stakeholders of the project through forums: User, Volunteer and Stakeholder Forums.

2 The post holder s role is to plan and deliver all outward-looking activities of the project: outreach and marketing activities, recruitment of volunteers and coordination of their training, engagement of external stakeholders, users and volunteers. The project is delivered within a team comprising the post holder, a Senior Adviser responsible for the project s functions relating direct work with users, and volunteer Peer ducators.

Recruitment of volunteer Peer ducators and coordination of their training (in liaison with a Senior Adviser). Organisation and coordination of User, Volunteer and Stakeholders forum meetings (in liaison with a Senior Adviser). stablishment and maintaining of relationships with key stakeholders. 2. KY UTIS AN RSPONSIBILITIS 2.1 Marketing and promotion of the project Copywriting and coordination of production of leaflets, posters and other promotional materials, and its distribution across London. Promotion of the project, its activities, outcomes, case studies and learning via digital channels, in particular but not limited to social media (Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) Coordination and delivery of physical outreach to the target communities. Organisation and delivery of learning events and/or workshops, in liaison with a Senior Adviser. 2.2 Provision of information Putting together of mailing lists and taking care of its continuous expansion. Copywriting a newsletter targeting eastern uropeans (quarterly) and coordination of its translation by a pool of volunteer translators. Coordination of dissemination of the newsletters to a mailing list in a timely and efficient manner. Coordination of the recruitment process and volunteer training, in liaison with a Senior Adviser. 2.4 Management of Forums evelopment and maintaining of relationships with key stakeholders in the public authorities, relevant charitable sector and among other relevant actors. Organisation, coordination and management of User, Volunteer and Stakeholder Forums, in liaison with a Senior Adviser. 2.5 Other duties Supporting of evidence collection from the project. Copywriting case studies, good practice guides and other similar materials for dissemination.

4 Monitoring of activities and contribution to evaluation of the project. Attending support and supervision meetings, team meetings and all other similar events. Commitment to the provision of high-quality, accessible services in line with quality standards, organisational policies and procedures, and legislation. Working flexibly as required by the support service and to undertake any other duties commensurate with the post.

PRSON SPCIFICATION Knowledge, experience and skills Familiarity with challenges faced by astern uropean migrant groups Confidence in communicating with the broad range of people, including public officials, the media, users and other relevant groups Networking skills and confidence xcellent nglish literacy skills Fluent knowledge of a minimum one astern uropean language xperience in project delivery; sound understanding of project planning and management Knowledge of evidence collection, monitoring and evaluation xperience of working with disadvantaged groups xperience in planning and delivering communication functions xperience in planning and delivering outreach to communities xperience in delivery of training, presentations, learning events xperience of an event management Understanding of the charitable sector; previous experience in the sector either in paid or unpaid roles will be an advantage Passionate and motivated to make change happen Approachable and a good listener xcellent organiser Proven ability to manage own workload; able to help others manage their work xcellent interpersonal skills Team-playing skills as well as ability to work independently towards deadlines xcellent computer literacy (Microsoft Office, internet) Ability to travel across the Greater London Proven ability to write reports, clear and concise notes, and keep accurate records = ssential = esirable Job share will be considered for the right candidate.
