1 DRAFT JOB DESCRIPTION ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR - QUALITY (COLLEGE GROUP) This Job Description sets out the organisational position, reporting lines, key accountabilities and relationships. POST OUTLINE: To take the strategic lead on the development, implementation and monitoring of quality improvement, quality assurances processes and procedures across Orbital South Colleges. To monitor and report upon the quality of teaching, learning and assessment making recommendations for continuous development and sharing of good practice. The post holder will take specific responsibility for further developing the quality strategy for the vocational programmes including the work based learning provision. The post holder will be required to lead and drive the continuous quality improvement culture of the Orbital South Colleges, promoting inspirational teaching, training and learning to ensure that all provision is at the very least good. The post holder will also be instrumental in supporting the College nominee in readiness for Ofsted inspection. Post Reports To: Principal (JRC) and Quality Lead (College Group) Line Management: Assistant Quality Manager, Data Quality Co-ordinator Key Accountabilities: The Associate Director Quality will lead on the development, planning, implementation, monitoring and review of quality improvement processes including: Have the ability to analyse College Data to develop and drive the quality assurance processes to bring about consistent improvement in the quality of the student experience to outstanding Be fully proficient in systems to include student tracking, monitoring, performance and standards Utilising key data sets, to report on, analyse accurately and present all levels of performance data to a wide-ranging audience to include attendance, retention, pass rates, achievement, value added and progression/destinations. Compiling reports and presenting as required to Learning Quality Committee(LQC) Work with the Head of Departments and curriculum teams to enable them to fully understand and use their data for the purpose of quality improvement; To support the Curriculum teams in the production of their self-assessment reports, associated quality improvement plans and reporting returns to external bodies whilst meeting set deadlines; Page 1 of 5

2 Preparation of quality related reports as appropriate to a range of internal committees Managing and reviewing the quality cycle/calendar including quality performance reviews and curriculum quality audits; and preparation of key Quality meetings Managing the quality arrangements for subcontracting and apprenticeship delivery including quality monitoring visits, feedback and devising and monitoring appropriate action plan, To work proficiently and maintain correspondence with awarding bodies such as City & Guilds Pearson and others, take responsibility for external verification management, reporting and monitoring of action plans Ensure that reporting systems based on targets and benchmarking are consistent across the College and are owned and understood by teaching teams To evaluate tracking systems to ensure that students are achieving and progressing in a timely manner and that the College can evidence added value whilst ensuring compliance by Course Leaders Working under the direction of the Principal (JRC) and Quality Lead (College Group), to ensure high quality consistency across the College Group to result in a minimum of Ofsted inspected good with many areas of outstanding practice. To be part of the College management team and effectively contribute to continuous improvement of the College Implement and monitor the observation process and team, in order to support improvements to the learning and teaching profile and the quality of the student experience To have lead responsibilities for classroom observations and collation of quality outcomes, and ensure support and coaching for any teaching observed to be below a good level Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of national quality and performance-related systems and reporting mechanisms; benchmarking and national targets; achievement and performance tables and value added systems To support the Principal (JRC) & Quality Lead (College Group) and Vice Principal Curriculum and Standards (ESC) on all matters relating to internal and external inspections. Actively promote equality and diversity, recognising and actively challenging stereotyping, prejudice and discrimination, ensuring that these principles permeate all working practices. All staff are required to undertake mandatory Equality & Diversity Training. 2. Adhere to and actively promote the College Group s Safeguarding policy and procedures, and undertake mandatory Safeguarding Training. 3. Adhere to and actively promote the College Group s Prevent Agenda 4. Adhere to and actively promote the College Group s General Data Protection policy and procedures, and undertake the mandatory Data Protection Training. 5. Ensure effective quality control and continuous improvement in all aspects of this post, in keeping with the College Group s existing and developing quality assurance systems. 6. Be committed to professional self-development, through participation in the College Group s continuing professional development programme which includes industry based work shadowing, attending seminars, College Group conference days and training events appropriate to the job role. 7. Comply with and promote College Group s Health and Safety policies and procedures and to undertake mandatory Health and Safety training as and when necessary. 8. Undertake such other duties as required, commensurate with the grade of the post, as may be reasonably required at the initial place of work or at other locations in the College Group. 9. Support cross college Group s events such as Open Evenings and Enrolment sessions when required 10. Adhere to all College s Group procedures as detailed in the Employee Handbook 11.
