(ARCSI) delivers a range of services and activities from two community venues on Brisbane s Southside: the Acacia Ridge & Districts Community Centre and the Moorooka Social Space. Our facilities are vibrant and busy community hubs with strong connections to the diverse people and organisations of our local communities. ARCSI has been operating since 1989 and offers a values-based, family-friendly place of employment. The Training Programs Coordinator is responsible for the planning and delivery of ARCSI s employment and training programs, which include a number of training and traineeship programs funded under the Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative. ARCSI works with community members, training providers, employers and other stakeholders to assist diverse job seekers participate successfully in the local labour market and help businesses meet their staffing needs. Our employment and training programs align with the Financial Inclusion and Lifelong Learning elements of ARCSI s Strategic Plan and have been an area of significant organisational growth in the recent past. The Training Programs Coordinator plays an important role in ensuring quality delivery of existing programs, achievement of agreed Key Performance Indicators, and future growth of the program area. The role requires a person with experience in the delivery of innovative and effective human services programs and ability to lead and support a team of Training Support Workers. Key aspects of the role include planning and organising multiple complex projects and activities, liaising effectively with key external stakeholders, including training organisations and employers, and supporting clients achieve a range of learning and employment transition outcomes. 2 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Project Coordination 1. Coordinate the operational planning and delivery of ARCSI s Skilling Queenslanders for Work funded training and traineeship projects in line with contractual and other relevant requirements, as well as organisational priorities. 2. Ensure Key Performance Indicators are met with regard to participant enrolment, training completion and employment outcomes for ARCSI s employment and training programs. 3. Coordinate the promotion of ARCSI s employment and training programs to relevant target groups (such as local communities, other service providers, schools, sports and community clubs, churches, etc.). 4. Lead on the planning and implementation of any other ARCSI employment and training initiatives. 5. Provide direction and support to the members of ARCSI s Training Team, as well as volunteers, including through regular team meetings, structured supervision meetings and annual performance appraisals. Client Support 6. Coordinate the development, resourcing and delivery of group-based and individual client support and job readiness activities (such as program information sessions, job readiness workshops, career information sessions, one-on-one intensive job search support and interview coaching, other learning support activities, industry visits, guest speakers, etc.). 7. Support the Training Team to respond to general client needs through the provision of assistance, information and referral, and/or client advocacy to help facilitate equitable access to services and support. Stakeholder Engagement 8. Develop and maintain strong relationships with funding bodies, Registered Training Organisations, industry bodies and employers to benefit ARCSI s employment and training programs, and the organisation as a whole. 9. Actively engage relevant local employers to secure work experience opportunities and postprogram employment options for program participants. 10. Represent ARCSI at relevant stakeholder networks and forums. Business Development 11. Provide input and expert advice to the design and delivery of current and future ARCSI employment and training initiatives. 12. Actively contribute to writing Skilling Queenslanders for Work and other funding applications for new employment and training or other initiatives. 13. Help identify opportunities for collaborative new employment and training programs in response to local job seeker and employer needs. 14. Assist in the development of formalised structured partnership arrangements with relevant stakeholders. ARCSI Training Programs Coordinator (June 2017) 2

3 Information Management 15. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant Government funding programs and current ARCSI funding contracts; keep abreast of current economic trends and relevant Government policy developments. 16. Monitor program budgets and ensure expenditure is within approved budgets. 17. Ensure complete, accurate and timely records and data are kept on program participants, program progress and performance, as well as client service delivery activities and outcomes. 18. Continuously review and improve the efficiency of all of ARCSI s employment and training service delivery structures, systems and processes. 19. Lead on the continuous improvement of ARCSI s employment and training programs by regularly seeking and analysing feedback from clients, training partners, employers and/or external stakeholders. 20. Ensure the adequate resourcing of all employment and training activities in line with program and organisational budgets and priorities. 21. Coordinate and provide regular reports on program progress and performance to ARCSI management and funding bodies; contribute program information and data for other publications, as requested by ARCSI management (e.g., annual reports, promotional texts, media releases, etc.). Other 22. Perform any general administrative duties within established systems and processes relevant to this role and the effective and efficient functioning of the organisation as a whole. 23. Respect and abide by ARCSI s Vision, Mission and Values, and work within ARCSI s Policies and Procedures framework to achieve the aims and objectives of ARCSI s Strategic Plan. 24. Work collaboratively across ARCSI teams, the organisation s management and volunteers, and contribute to a respectful and supportive workplace culture. 25. Perform any other duties commensurate with this role and as directed by ARCSI management. Demonstrable experience in the operational planning and delivery of innovative and effective human services programs, preferably with an employment and training focus. 2. Proven success in meeting program KPIs and achieving sustainable employment outcomes for disadvantaged job seekers, including from migrant and refugee backgrounds. 3. Proven ability to design, implement and continuously improve service delivery structures, systems and process, to comply with contractual and other program requirements, and to work within approved budgets. 4. Demonstrable stakeholder engagement skills and proven ability to build mutually beneficial partnerships, including with private business. 5. Thorough understanding of current (State and Federal) Government employment and training priorities and frameworks, as well as funded services and initiatives. 6. Demonstrable ability to implement effective staff management and supervision practices, and lead a team to be their best. 7. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, take initiative and problem solve, complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner, and deliver quality outcomes. 8. Proven ability to research, collate and present information and data in an accurate and accessible manner. 9. Demonstrable ability to produce accurate and correctly written professional documents; confident user of the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
