Apprenticeship programmes have been designed by employers and enable Apprentices to gain technical and professional knowledge with real practical experience, along with the functional and personal skills required for their immediate job and future career. Apprenticeships are a combination of workplace learning and formal training which provide the opportunity to practice and embed new skills in a working environment. Apprenticeships are open to all learners aged 16 and above, providing they meet the eligibility criteria for funding. Higher Apprenticeships are now available up to degree level and beyond.
