1 Position Description POSITION TITLE: REPORTS TO: EMPLOYMENT TYPE/STATUS: EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Corporate Communications and Content Coordinator Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Manager FULL TIME FIXED TERM Contract CLASSIFICATION: Level 5 DATE REVIEWED: January 2019 Team Overview The Communications and Client Recruitment Team is responsible for implementation of state wide integrated communications and marketing strategies to maximise breast screening participation and throughput across the state. Three focus areas within the team include: Communications and stakeholder engagement Health promotion Digital Communications and Social Media The Corporate Communications and Content Coordinator manages the development, production and distribution of BreastScreen Victoria (BSV) content for delivery through a variety of digital and traditional channels for both internal and external audiences. Role Objective The Corporate Communications and Content Coordinator is responsible for the development, production and distribution of BSV content for delivery through a variety of digital and traditional channels for both internal and external audiences including for SMS reminders, speeches, media releases, social media, external and internal websites and some corporate publications. The role provides assistance and advice to other business areas on their publications and content needs and new projects, policies, events and other initiatives as they arise. The role will provide general support and leave coverage for the Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Manager.

2 Key Responsibilities Include but not limited to: Key Responsibility 1 Digital Content Strategy: Develop and review content for a range of BSV channels including media relations, podcasts, social media, website, and intranet in line with BSV s digital strategy. Measure the effectiveness of communications content using tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook Business Manager. 2 Corporate Communications: Internal/Corporate Communications Strategy across digital/face to face/and paper. Develop and measure digital content associated with engaging internal audiences such as the BSV intranet. Coordinate the production and publication of BSV s Annual Report, Annual Statistical Report and other corporate publications primarily to digital publication. 3 Digital and Hard Publications: Coordinate the development and review of all hard and soft copy BSV publications. Coordinate the production and distribution of all BSV publications to services, women, health professionals and other stakeholders. Ensure alignment of content messages across social media, traditional media, publications and events. Ensure all BSV publications meet the requirements of the Information for Consumers policy i.e. high quality, tailored to different information needs, scientifically accurate and consistent with state and national policies. Monitor and control publications stock and materials to meet requirements of services and ensure it is within budget. Support the Manager, Communications and Stakeholder Engagement with management and implementation of BVS s brand and style guide across a range of channels. Liaise with BSV staff, content experts and external contractors including printers, designers, photographers and translators. 4 Community Engagement: Support the Health Promotion team by contributing to activities aimed at increasing consumer engagement in BSV services, including annual consumer/stakeholder events. 5 Signage: Coordinate the design and installation of BSV signage and develop and implement signage guidelines. 6 Project and Policy Communications:

3 Key Responsibility Develop communication materials for other recruitment, or policy change projects as required. 7 Media relations: Coordinate media events, develop event materials such as media releases, social media posts, speeches, running sheets and fact sheets, as directed by the Manager Communications and Stakeholder Relations. 8 Improvement Projects: Assist the Manager, Communications and Stakeholder Engagement with process and system improvement projects to increase ease and efficiency. Level of Supervision and Independence As a level 5 employee as per the BSV Enterprise Agreement, it is expected that the incumbent has the capacity to resolve problems that require a degree of original and independent thinking and may be required to handle difficult work situations with the necessary skills to produce effective outcomes for BSV. A good understanding of coordination and management skills is required as the employee is required to undertake responsibility for one or more specific projects, monitor resources and balance completing priorities to achieve results. The position is required to provide policy and strategic input to BSV and the wider community, and represent BSV through liaising and fostering a network of stakeholders to share expertise. The employee must be able to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels of the organisation, and where appropriate motivate others. Well-developed interpersonal and negotiating skills, excellent communication abilities and a high degree of personal accountability are essential for the role. The Senior Health Promotion Officer will provide general support and leave coverage for the Health Promotion Manager. Professional skills, knowledge and a proficiency in a specialised field gained through formal qualifications and experience, is required to assist in providing technical advice to others requiring support in the health promotion industry. 4 Key Selection Criteria Academic Qualifications ESSENTIAL DESIRABLE Appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent, relevant professional experience. Key Success Behaviours ESSENTIAL Proven extensive writing and editing experience preferably gained in a health environment and including for online publications High-level understanding of the functionality of digital communications platforms including optimisation, analytics, audience analysis and evaluation DESIRABLE Knowledge of the political environment including Federal, State and Local Government Knowledge of the Victorian media landscape A sound understating of social media trends for both internal and external platforms including LinkedIn for corporate communications Sound knowledge of trends and developments in the communications industry and the capacity to identify their potential application within BSV. High-level written and oral communication, negotiation, networking and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively will all levels of management and staff. 6 About BSV BreastScreen Victoria aims to reduce the impact of a breast cancer diagnosis ensuring women have the best health outcome through early detection. We aim to provide free mammograms to 70% of women aged every two years, as they are the group most at risk of developing the disease. However, all women 40+ are eligible to attend. BreastScreen Victoria is a fully accredited part of BreastScreen Australia, and is jointly funded by the Victorian and Commonwealth Governments. BreastScreen Victoria is made up three components: Business coordination unit (BCU) Screening service providers Reading and assessment services The BCU is responsible for administering the funding for screening, reading and assessment services. It is also the central hub for all information, appointment services, communications, recruitment, MSS coordination, and monitoring service levels to implement quality improvements. With over 42 permanent screening clinics across Victoria, and 25 sites that are visited every two years by the mobile screening service (MSS), we strive for equality of access for all Victorian women. Our MSS also visits two Aboriginal cooperatives: Rumbalara and Murray Valley. BreastScreen Victoria engages with eight reading and assessment centres across the Victoria. These services read images from multiple sites, including the MSS, and also provide all clinical services from the initial breast screen to any further procedures required to the point of diagnosis.
