1 Temporary Recreation Positions Available Wind River Ranger District, Shoshone National Forest, PO BOX 186, Dubois, WY Job Description: We will be looking to hire 2 temporary employees (GS 4 and 5) for the 2014 field season. One position will be in the developed and dispersed recreation program and one will be as an ATV Ranger. Both positions will work on the Wind River Ranger District in Dubois, WY. Our preference for the developed dispersed position is to hire one GS-5 Forestry Technician position available for the entire season (approximately six months). For the ATV Ranger position we will be looking at GS-4 candidates available season long (approximately six months) or shorter. Employees hired for the developed/dispersed position will be expected to perform various job duties specific to the developed and dispersed recreation program on the district throughout the season. Recreation duties shall include but are not limited to: light to moderate maintenance in the Districts five developed campgrounds, patrol and cleanup of expansive dispersed recreation sites, public

2 contacts, help with law enforcement activities, hazard tree surveying and removal, fee collections and monthly testing of campground water systems. Employees will also have the opportunity to assist in fire suppression activities on the Forest, with the possibility of off forest assignments if work schedule allows. The candidate hired for the ATV Ranger position will be expected to patrol and enforce the rules and regulations of the Forest while under the supervision of the permanent ATV ranger, to clean and rehabilitate dispersed camping areas and to be involved in minor to moderate motorized trail maintenance and rehabilitation. Both positions require that the employee be willing to work long days (including weekends), to work well with the public, to traverse various types of terrain and to work in inclement weather. Employees must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid government issued driver s license. Location: These job opportunities are located in Dubois, WY on the Wind River Ranger District of the Shoshone National Forest. Dubois is a small town of approximately 1,000 people located in between the Absaroka and Wind River Mountain Ranges approximately 70 miles away from the southern entrance of Yellowstone National Park. Jackson, Wyoming is located approximately 75 miles to the west, while Lander and Riverton, Wyoming are located approximately 75 miles to the east. Housing is not guaranteed but may be available to hired candidates on a first come/ first serve basis.
