1 JOB CODE: TBD ROLE & LEVEL: TBD JOB TITLE: Business Analyst PAY GRADE: 5-8 (Based on Qualifications) DEPARTMENT: Administration FLSA STATUS: Exempt REPORTS TO: Business Development Manager JOB PURPOSE: Performs intermediate level business analyst work for the Lee County Tax Collector. Assists with implementing technology solutions in a cost-effective way by determining the requirements of a project and communicating them clearly to stakeholders. Position is responsible for facilitating the analysis, documentation, testing and implementation of business requirements. Work is performed independently under limited supervision with considerable latitude. Position requires processing and interpreting of more complex, less clearly-defined issues. EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification. Coordinates and facilitates meetings and research with subject matter experts and stakeholders to solicit, develop, document and analyze system requirements. Documents system functionality in a format that can be understood by business users and developers. Understands and communicates the priority of all system requirements. Uses problem solving skills to identify solutions that meet user needs. Works closely with Business Development Manager and Development Team to ensure user requirements and business needs are met. Collaborates with stakeholders in other departments regarding the impact of system changes. Identifies project risks, works to mitigate risks, and communicates them to Business Development Manager and Development Team. Develops and documents best practices for system use/navigation. Creates test cases/scripts and performs user acceptance testing. Participates in the development of training curriculum and facilitates training classes as needed (train the trainer). Page 1 of 5

2 Gathers, analyzes, and maintains individual, departmental, and organizational transaction data required for various financial and operational reporting needs, both internal and external. Shares data by providing regular reports to various departments and agencies in a user-friendly format. Provides technical guidance and support as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree in business, technical discipline or related field; supplemented by two or more years business analyst experience within a technical environment; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. Intermediate SQL query skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems. PMI-PBA certification. Experience with Agile, Scrum and/or KANBAN. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Skilled at interfacing with vendors and team members at all levels Skilled at multi-tasking and setting priorities Skilled communicator (verbal and written) and presenter Ability to manage expectations and solve disputes or conflicts Ability to negotiate and influence business decisions and directions Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and assign work and ensure proper completion of work assignments and projects Ability to readily adapt to changing organizational needs Ability to analyze business needs of end users to determine project programming and resources Ability to establish and maintain cohesive teams where technical resources are shared across multiple projects Ability to listen and solicit input/feedback to ensure clear understanding Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (up to 20 pounds). 3 may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station and extended periods of time standing and/or walking. ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Tasks are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions (e.g., dirt, cold, rain, fumes). SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally and in writing. Page 3 of 5
