1 Faith in Place Job Description Title: EcoAdvocate Hours: Part-time (10-20 hours per week) Compensation: $15/hour Location: Waukegan, Glendale Heights or South Shore Start Date: May 29, 2019 Faith in Place empowers Illinois people of all faiths to be leaders in caring for the Earth, providing resources to educate, connect, and advocate for healthier communities. Position Description Are you an outgoing individual with a passion for saving energy and preserving our environment? Faith in Place is hiring part-time EcoAdvocates (10-20 hours per week) to educate community members about energy efficiency, and to encourage participation in energy-saving programs. Applicants must be motivated, flexible self-starters with a strong work ethic and willingness to take on special projects. EcoAdvocates will work with a collaborative team to lead community events and spread awareness, including local advocacy groups and energy efficiency professionals. Therefore, the most successful candidates will be team players, mission-driven, and possess a positive attitude. As an EcoAdvocate, you will: Engage the local community through educational events Recruit small business partners via phone and Recruit program participants through a variety of outreach activities, such as phone calls, s, and one-on-one in-person meetings; assist with completing applications Perform ongoing participant follow-up and assistance with home energy-saving measures Other duties: Social media content development and support Data and survey collection Project management Sales and customer service Local travel to participant homes (required) Compensation: $15 per hour Free professional and technical skills training Travel reimbursement o Applicants in Waukegan and Glendale Heights must have their own source of transportation, proof of a valid driver s license, and insurance. There will be a stipend to offset transportation costs. o South Shore applicants will received a transportation stipend as well.

2 All applicants will also receive a stipend to help offset their cell phone costs. Must have a Smartphone. Workforce placement after 18 months Requirements: Must be 18 years of age or older Must reside in one of the following communities: Waukegan, Glendale Heights, South Shore Valid identification (State of Illinois driver s license or state ID) Basic computer knowledge (Word, Excel, etc.) Must have a Smartphone Preferred Qualifications/Experience: High School Diploma or GED Community organizing Sales and/or marketing Public speaking Fluent in Spanish (not a requirement but a plus) EcoAdvocate 5-day training includes: Soft skills: Time management, leadership, and communication Project management Event coordination and planning Basic computer skills Data tracking (Energy Orbit) Overview of the ComEd Energy Efficiency Program Building science basics Behavior change science Energy efficiency basics Technical skills: Smart thermostat installation (Ecobee) To apply: Please complete the application form below and submit a cover letter.
