Specialist degree prgrams extend the Institute s prtfli t prvide higher level business and management educatin. Clse links with industry and cntinuing innvatin in the delivery f services ensure the relevance f prgrams t tday s wrkplace. JOB PURPOSE The Trainer & Assessr NSW is accuntable fr assisting the Institute t achieve its bjectives by subsidised prgrams and fee fr service quality educatin and training in accrdance with the vcatinal educatin and training quality Standards fr Registered Training Organisatins 2015 (SRTO). The Trainer & Assessr NSW is als respnsible fr develping resurces and assessment tls t supprt this delivery and fr develping and maintaining relatinships with industry and key gvernment bdies. The successful applicant will be required t wrk as a team member and teach/train within the William Angliss Institute Sydney and service areas. PRIMARY OBJECTIVES OF THE JOB The primary bjectives f this psitin are t: Prvide excellent teaching/training and assessment fr the benefit f students, their emplyers and industry. Actively maintain and share current persnal knwledge and skills in vcatinal industry practice and teaching/ pedaggy. Participate in the Institute s quality system, which is based n the, Standards Registered Training Organisatins 2015 (SRTO) by maintaining familiarity with the verall standards and the requirements f the relevant regulatry authrities. Carry ut administrative duties relating t the rle f a Crdinatr/Trainer & Assessr: Determine the training needs f cmmercial clients, Maintain accurate recrds f student, prgress and assessment in accrdance with established plicies and prcedures, Prepare and maintain teaching/training and learning resurces, Supervise and mnitr student prgress, Liaise with the Emplyers f Institute students, Australian Apprenticeship Centres, and ther institutins as apprpriate t ensure the establishment f strng cperative arrangements, Participate in netwrks beynd the Institute, Prvide pre-curse advice t students and participate in student selectin and inductin. Cmply with the Institute and Public Sectr Cde f Cnduct, Occupatinal Health and Safety Plicy and Prcedures, Chid Safe Plicy and Prcedure, Diversity, Access and Equity Plicy and any ther relevant legislatin, plicy, prcedures r practices. REPORTING & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS As a member f the William Angliss Institute Sydney team the psitin will reprt directly t the Manager Educatinal Operatins and will have a netwrk f wrking relatinships with ther managers, crdinatrs, Trainer & Assessrs and administrative staff. Immediate Manager: Manager: Directr: CEO: Manager Educatinal Operatins Manager Training NSW Assciate Directr Vcatinal Educatin and Training William Angliss Institute f TAFE The Manager Educatinal Operatins is respnsible fr leading the William Angliss Institute Sydney teaching/training team, management and crdinatin f bth gvernments funded and fee fr service delivery. The psitin s manager reprts t the Manager Training NSW. TYPICAL FUNCTIONS Assist thers with prgram related administrative tasks. Assist team members with resurce evaluatin and mderatin f standards leading twards interpretatin f curse materials. Prvide advice and guidance within areas f specialist expertise. Assist with cunselling students n curse wrk issues. Adapt units and curses as apprpriate t meet client needs. Liaise as apprpriate with specialist inter Training Prvider netwrks and learning cmmunities. Cnduct teaching/training prgrams, therefre train and assess students in a face t face and nline envirnment Crdinate mnthly reprts t immediate manager, client manager and client representative. Establish and maintain a learning envirnment, including encuraging students t take respnsibility fr their wn learning. Refer students with learning difficulties, as required and identify apprpriate teaching strategies. Assist in relatin t the establishment, maintenance and review f teaching/training prgrams. Ensure assessment is valid, reliable and fair and allw flexibility in delivery and assessment t take int cnsideratin student s needs and learning abilities. Prvide assistance with staff inductin Custmise units and curses as apprpriate t meet client needs JUDGEMENT AND ACCOUNTABILITY Exercise judgment and initiative. Plan and priritise wrk schedule. Set and achieve teaching bjectives. Manage the learning prcess, including student participatin and preparatin f student learning plans. Refer learning difficulties. Prvide leadership in specialist areas within the teaching department and acrss the Institute. Facilitate f issuance f qualificatins and statements f attainment. ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS AND IMPACT Cnsult and prvide educatinal services under the directin f Senir Educatrs and ther managers. Prvide a well-develped range f teaching/training strategies t students and ther clients bth within and external t the Institute. Cmmunicate with curse and subject stakehlders as apprpriate. Assist in student selectin prcesses as apprpriate. Undertake a range f administrative, crdinatin, and learning services activities directly related t the areas taught. SPECIALIST SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE Develp teaching and learning strategies and materials. Cnduct student entry level assessment. Adapt learning and assessment materials t cater fr different students, learning envirnments, facilities and resurces. Mderate validatin f utcmes. Develp prject and r research skills. Research and prepare wn teaching/training materials and fr utilizatin acrss the Institute. Develp leadership and mentring skills. Develp and design curses. Package accredited curses as identified. Crprate requirements f the psitin include: Cntribute t the applicatin f gd peple management practices within the wrksite by cmplying with related plicies/prcedures and guidelines. Cntribute t the prtectin f children by cmplying with Child Safe plicies, prcedures and legislatin including respnding t student cncerns f child abuse and reprting suspected child abuse. Cntribute t the ccupatinal health, safety and welfare f Institute staff, students and members f the public by cmplying with apprved and established safe wrking prcedures and OH&S plicies and legislatin. 4 Supprt the Institute s Perfrmance Agreement with Skills Victria by gaining Infrmatin Cmmunicatin Technlgy (ICT) cmpetency, and t assist the Institute t meet its aims in relatin t flexible, innvative training delivery. Be familiar and ensure cmpliance with the relevant state and territry Vcatinal Educatinal and Training (VET) Gvernment Funding Cntract at all times by meeting cntractual requirements f the Cntract(s) and ensuring all staff are aware f their respnsibilities mandated by the Cntract(s). Ensure that internal and external audit recmmendatins that relate t the relevant VET Gvernment Funding Cntract(s) are actined and implemented n a timely basis and reprted accrdingly. Ntes: The incumbent can expect t be allcated duties nt specifically mentined in this dcument but within the capacity, qualificatins and experience nrmally expected frm persns ccupying psitins at this classificatin level. 5 KEY SELECTION CRITERIA 1. Applicants require a minimum vcatinal qualificatin f Diplma Hspitality Management (SIT50416) r equivalent. 2. Minimum teaching qualificatin as per the Standards fr Registered Training Organisatins: TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment r its successr r TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus the fllwing units: (i) TAELLN411 (r its successr) r TAELLN401A, and (ii) TAEASS502 (r its successr) r TAEASS502A r TAEASS502B, 3. Demnstrated ability and experience t plan teach/train and assess in a range f units in the Turism, Travel and Hspitality training package r accredited curriculum in the areas f Hspitality (htels and custmer service). 4. Ability t research and develp apprpriate teaching/training materials and methds f assessment and adapt delivery and assessment t meet student needs using apprpriate technlgy in a diverse teaching envirnment. 5. Demnstrated experience wrking in industry that directly relate t the utcmes f the Diplma f Hspitality. 6. Demnstrated experience wrking in industry in a range f fd and beverage utlets 7. Knwledge f current trends in the Hspitality industry; and a netwrk f industry cntacts. 8. Demnstrated behaviurs that align with the William Angliss Institute Values. SPECIAL CONDITIONS A NSW Wrking with Children Check is required prir t cmmencement. The successful candidate fr this psitin may be required t undertake verseas teaching assignments based n business and peratinal needs f the Institute. This is an integral part f the rle as a Teacher.
