3 Marketing and Communications Coordinator Sydney, NSW v Permanent, Full Time - based at CanTeen s National Office in Newtown, Sydney v The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will play a pivotal role in raising awareness of CanTeen and enhancing the organisation s reputation. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, is highly adaptable to change and can effectively manage internal stakeholders with competing demands and tasks. v The role involves taking primary responsibility for CanTeen s social media channels including content development and community management. You will develop the organisation s monthly e-newsletter, assist with other communications as well as update website content as required. You will also facilitate the development of collateral for other internal stakeholders as well as provide other marketing support as required. We are looking for a dynamic and strong team player who can demonstrate the following capabilities: Relevant qualifications in public relations, communications, journalism or a related field or experience in a similar role Strong written and verbal communication skills An excellent understanding of social media channels, v community management, marketing platforms and website management Enthusiasm and a can do attitude A strong team player Ability to work autonomously and show initiative Interested? 4 Reports to: Head of Marketing and Communications Positions reporting into this one: None Key working relationships: Head of Marketing and Communications, Marketing and Communications Manager, Individual Giving team, Partnerships team, Division Managers, Division Support Officers and external agencies Working Hours: This is a permanent position. Hours are full time, Monday Friday. Social media management: The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will be responsible for developing CanTeen s social media content, scheduling and taking the lead community management role in terms of responding to comments and messages. You will play a critical part in implementing CanTeen s new social media strategy, contribute to its ongoing enhancement as well as provide insights and expertise to guide the development, implementation and evaluation of social media marketing campaigns. Digital assets: You will be responsible for planning, producing and reporting on the organisation s monthly e-newsletter to all CanTeen supporters. You will also assist with the development of other communications to CanTeen supporters, input on campaignbased supporter journeys for acquisition, engagement and retention as well as help transition CanTeen to a new marketing platform with higher levels of automation. The role will also act as the primary liaison with internal stakeholders to ensure that website content updates and changes are made correctly and in a timely fashion. CanTeen collateral: The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will work with internal stakeholders and external agencies to facilitate the development, design and approval of CanTeen collateral. This includes overseeing a new online process for business as usual requests and taking a more hands-on role for other collateral production. Additional miscellaneous duties: The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will be responsible for compiling monthly reporting on social media and performance for CanTeen, digital assets and publications. In addition, you will look after other miscellaneous duties as required. Key Performance Indicators Performance of CanTeen digital assets (reach, engagement and conversion across social media channels and communications) Accurate copy-writing to deadline Effective and timely community management Collateral developed on brand, on time and within budget Reporting and other duties completed on time

5 Essential criteria Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualifications in public relations, communications, journalism, or related fields, or experience in a similar role Knowledge/Skills/Experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail 3+ years experience in a marketing / communications role Excellent understanding of social media channels, proven community management and social media marketing skills Strong understanding of marketing platforms and website content management systems Strong project management skills including effective planning, time management, and organisational skills Desirable criteria Understanding of Google Analytics, AdWords, Facebook and Google Display Network retargeting, SEO/SEM and/or an interest to develop skills in this area Previous experience and knowledge of communicating with and marketing to the youth market (12 25 years) Previous experience working on fundraising communications Previous experience creating engaging communications and supporter journey planning Personal Attributes Desire to work for CanTeen and an affinity with our mission Professionalism Enthusiasm and a can do attitude Attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work autonomously and take initiative Adaptable to change Ability to prioritise and juggle multiple, competing tasks A strong team player with the ability to build and maintain relationships as well as push back when required High level of integrity, honesty and commitment

6 Due to the nature of CanTeen s work, you will sometimes be required to work weekends and evenings with some inter-state travel from time to time. Advance notice will be given when this is the case, and CanTeen has a generous Time off in Lieu policy for taking leave when hours in excess of the standard working week are worked. As CanTeen s work involves employees being in direct contact with children and young people, employees are required to complete police and working with children checks, relevant to the State in which they will be employed. CanTeen will conduct at least two reference checks on successful applicants, and may also require proof of any professional qualifications stated on an application.
