2 TITLE: Work-Life Balance from the Global and Malaysian Perspective CODE: MPU 3312 LEVEL: MPU Semester, 3 & 4 PROGRAMME: Bsc (Hon) Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Nutrition, Dietetics with Nutrition, Chiropractic, Chinese Medicine, Nursing, Nursing Science CONTENT SYNOPSIS This module will provide the students with an understanding of how individuals, families, group and society, irrespective of gender define the concept of work-life balance. This module also reviews the consequences and health related problems in the imbalances in work-life balance. Strategies to work-life balance will be discussed. OBJECTIVES The objective of this module is to: 1. explain the concept of work-life balance 2. generate discussion on balancing work together with life 3. identify the influence of work life balance on health and illness as applied to individuals and groups LEARNING OUTCOMES On completion of this module, the student should be able to: CLO1: explain the concept of work-life balance CLO2: compare gender differences in work-life balance CLO3: discuss the role of employer and employee in work-life balance CLO4: discuss consequences of an imbalance work-life balance CLO5: discuss strategies which can improve to boost work-life balance among individuals, families, group and society CLO6: develop a plan on how work-life balance can be achieved at work. Each entry must not be less than 200 words. CAL Online Academic discussion This online discussion takes place in a group of 6-8 students. You will be given a topic to discuss. You are encouraged to draw from your personal experiences and from your readings (include references). You are required to post 2 entries and respond to your group members during the given duration.
