Session A1: Mental Health Standard National Standard on Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace Speakers: Patricia Clausen, Director of Government Sector, Monica A. Szabo, Executive Director, Prevention Services, and Liz Sisolak, Regional Consultant Public Services Health & Safety Association This session will provide an overview of the CSA Psychological Health and Safety standard and the implementation guide. Tools, techniques and available resources will be shared with the participants. Highlights from current Municipal success stories will also be shared. Session A2: Ministry of Labour Update on Municipal Health and Safety Speaker: Cordelia Julien, Director of Prevention Ministry of Labour Back by popular demand! Cordelia spoke at our Spring workshop 2014 in Niagara Falls and will be speaking in Guelph about the current training standards, Working at Heights, Joint Health and Safety Committees and Mandatory Entry Level for Construction. 8:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Newcomer and Sponsor Reception Are you a new member of OMHRA or is this your first OMHRA event? Paul will share his techniques about how to get the most out of life, deal with change, and laugh at just about anything. Session C: Municipal Case Study, City of Guelph 2014 Transit Lockout Labour Relations Communications and Lessons Learned The importance of labour relations communications and the need to plan appropriately, and lessons learned during the City of Guelph ATU Lockout. This session includes important information about the survey, how to participate, and how Mercer WIN, the powerful online tool introduced in 2014, can be used to access and analyze survey results. Employee absences from work have a direct impact on efficient operations. Organizations need to be aware of legal obligations, including human rights. In this session, attendees will learn about the various types of absenteeism and how to implement an effective attendance management program. Speaker: Bill Winegard, Executive Director, MROO, and Holly Ewing-Murphy, Assistant Vice- President, Retiree Benefits, ENCON Group Inc. MROO will give you some facts and figures about the incidence of chronic conditions as employees age, and their impact on the workplace. The County of Wellington has implemented a multi-faceted approach to promote and maintain a safe workplace and health and wellness strategy, with many of the initiatives being employee-driven. The County s award-winning practices will be shared through a presentation and round-table exercise, as well as a roadmap to initiate similar practices in your own organizations. Session J: OMERS & OMHRA A Strategic Partnership Hear from Warren Bell, OMERS Chief Operating Officer & Pension Services (COO) about some of the initiatives underway at OMERS including a focus on partnering with stakeholders, a commitment to member services and opportunities for working with municipal HR Professionals across the Province to raise awareness about our pension plan.
