1 Role title Responsible to Location Fundraising Support Officer Fundraising Support Manager 160 Dundee Street, Edinburgh, EH11 1DQ PURPOSE OF ROLE AND LEAD STRATEGIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND OUTCOMES The Fundraising Support Officer will work in close collaboration with colleagues, including but not limited to our Service Administrators and Finance and Fundraising teams. The Fundraising Support Officer is responsible for supporting the administration of fundraising in National Office and Localities. A key element of the role will be processing all donations efficiently and effectively (online, post and telephone), ensuring quality and accuracy of data input onto our database (Raiser s Edge) at all times. You will also produce tailored and timely thank you letters in line with our GDPR requirements and process Gift Aid declarations to enable Alzheimer Scotland to maximise the benefit of these. The Fundraising Support Officer will also provide comprehensive administrative and office management support to the Fundraising Support Manager and the wider team. This post will ensure policy and procedure compliance are followed in all areas above. DELIVERING THE VISION The role of Fundraising Support Officer will be personally responsible and accountable for exhibiting key behaviours and delivering the outcomes aligned to this role. This section describes the key strategic priorities. Supporting and enabling localities in delivering the 7 dimensions of the locality vision The primary focus of the role is to ensure fundraised income is efficiently recoded on appropriate systems to enable the budgets to inform the implementation of the 7 dimensions. You will do this through close collaborative working with the Finance and Fundraising support teams as well as Service Managers and Service Administrators across the organization, to deliver the seven dimensions underpinning the Alzheimer Scotland locality vision as outlined below.

You will build and maintain relationships and good communication with all stakeholders. A boundary free approach to Supporting portfolios You will work in close collaboration with peers to support localities across portfolios, in a way that ensures there are no real or perceived boundaries to supporting localities to achieve their potential and deliver the vision. Particularly in respect of recording fundraising income into the locality pots. Your approach will support Managers and Community Fundraisers in delivering a shared outcome that ensures geography neither prohibits effective leadership, nor creates an in-balance of priorities or fundraising. Specific Responsibilities Professionally handle all supporter interactions via telephone, post, and face to face, thanking them in an appropriate and timely manner. Accurately input data from a variety of sources including gifts both to National Office and from services via the Locality Banking, new donors and merchandise purchases enabling meaningful analysis.

3 Process Direct Debit administration including bi-monthly transmission and instruction files liaising with finance, working to strict deadlines. Process gifts received via our bank account onto the database, and accurately record the relevant details for our finance team in a timely fashion. Facilitate Gift Aid claims from event sponsorship forms and all general donations into Alzheimer Scotland by accurately recording donation details onto the database and by informing supporters about how to Gift Aid their donation. Ensure all CAF donations are accurately recorded in RE, and disbursement reports sent to finance on a regular basis. Input online donation and registration data into our database from our agreed Third Party Providers in an accurate and timely fashion. Facilitate all internal and external merchandise orders Produce tailored, well written thank you letters in response to general donations and events Provide administrative support on specific fundraising projects as identified and agreed with the Fundraising Support Manager. Ensure banking procedures and policies are followed by all, where appropriate escalating any outstanding items to line manager. Manage own workload effectively and show initiative by finding solutions to challenges. Use IT systems appropriately and safely including itrent, Yammer and Outlook. Operate within the context of Alzheimer Scotland policies and procedures. Supporting the overall approach to Fundraising In relation to fundraising, you will have an understanding of the Alzheimer Scotland ethos of shared responsibility and ownership for a change in culture and how this is integral to achieving the vision of making the 7D model active within every locality. You will have an understanding of how locality planning will engage local teams and community fundraisers to develop short, medium and long-term goals towards achieving a locality model that can deliver and sustain the 7 dimensions. As with all roles the role of Fundraising Support Officer has a responsibility to embrace this style of working in all aspects of their role. Volunteer voice and engagement Alzheimer Scotland volunteers have a central role to play throughout the organisation. When appropriate you will actively support the integration of volunteer activity in a way that maximises the return on this significant and highly valued resource.

4 Leadership The role of Fundraising Support Officer will work in close collaboration with peers and colleagues representing a cross section of all aspects of Alzheimer Scotland, exhibiting behaviours that place engagement at the heart of delivering the best outcomes for people with dementia and their carers. 5 Alzheimer Scotland Person Specification Fundraising Support Officer This person specification should be read with the job description for the post of Fundraising Support Officer. Please note that these competencies are not ranked in order of priority. The following criteria will be used in selecting a candidate: Skills, ability, knowledge Fully computer literate with excellent PC skills including word processing and spreadsheets High standard of written English Experience of creating promotional materials and reports using Microsoft Office, especially word and Excel Knowledge of using fundraising databases Knowledge of The Raiser s Edge Knowledge and experience of Gift Aid processes Ability to self organise, prioritise and meet deadlines Attention to detail Demonstrable organisational skills Demonstrable interpersonal and relationship building skills Dynamic, self-motivated person who has the ability to work unsupervised whilst also being a team player Personal qualities Enthusiastic with a positive attitude Empathetic to the aims and values of Alzheimer Scotland Qualifications/Experience Five GCSE s (grade C or above) or equivalent, including English and Mathematics Essential Desirable
