Signed Signed Date (Employee) Date (Manager) PURPOSE OF POSITION To provide effective support to the Merchandise Department in areas of product development and catalogue production. Provide support to the Merchandise Manager to enable delivery of revenue growth, market presence and profitability for the business unit. Purpose of Merchandise Department To provide The Leprosy Mission with popular products that can be featured in catalogues. To contribute to the effectiveness of The Leprosy Mission Australia s work through merchandise support. To provide efficient and accurate processing of orders. To maintain the integrity of the merchandise databases for products, orders and customers. To provide superior customer service and assistance to all customers and volunteers. 1 P age

2 Introduction The Leprosy Mission (TLM) is an international Christian organisation working towards the eradication of the causes and consequences of leprosy. TLM is a global network of organisations active in 49 countries around the world. It works in partnership with governments, local communities, partner health organisation, the World Health Organisation (WHO), local NGOs (Non-Government Organisations), local churches, Christian partners, and many other people to achieve the vision of a world without leprosy. The Leprosy Mission Australia (TLMA) is an autonomous body that is a member of TLM International Global fellowship. TLMA Mission Statement Following Jesus Christ, The Leprosy Mission strives to break the chains of leprosy, empowering people to attain healing, dignity and life in all its fullness. The Leprosy Mission Australia is a member of the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) and is a signatory to the ACFID Code of Conduct. Designation Merchandise Department, TLMA National Office Box Hill Accountability The Merchandise Coordinator is appointed by the Merchandise Manager. The Merchandise Coordinator position reports to the Merchandise Manager and will coordinate a small team of staff and volunteers. 2 P age

3 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Mission Understand, support and promote the Mission and Values of TLMA. Ensure that direct working relationships are established and maintained with colleagues and internal/external parties. Adhere to the principles of TLMA and our policies including the Code of Conduct. Merchandise Sourcing and selection of merchandise for catalogues Production of catalogues in collaboration with the Marketing Department Development and delivery of campaigns (eg acquisitions, social media, edms, product launches) in collaboration with the Marketing Department Negotiation of prices and ensuring continuity of stock with suppliers Support Merchandise Manager to meet revenue targets and other KPIs Production of reports including sales reports, acquisition reports and product reports. Attending/assisting trade fairs and other merchandise related events when required. Maintaining and updating of webstore, other e-commerce platforms, social media and inventory management system (Retail Express) Customer service duties including assisting with sales, complaints and enquiries. Coordinate and approve transfers for auxiliaries. Assist Finance Team and Merchandise staff with annual stocktake. Any related task as assigned by the Merchandise Manager or the Senior Management Team. Assisting Warehouse Coordinator if required Coordination and mentoring of volunteers or interns. 4 Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Use of software packages such as Retail Express, thankq, WooCommerce and other database systems. Ability to liaise with all staff, volunteers, supporters, clients, suppliers and external stakeholders in a professional manner. Quality and Risk Participate and contribute to quality improvement providing a supporter-focused service. Adhere to all TLMA s policies and procedures including Occupational Health and Safety, Privacy and Child Protection Policies. Dress appropriately in line with the expectations of the specific work area and Occupational Safety and Health requirements. Promote a safe working environment in accordance with legislative requirements for all staff, volunteers and visitors. 5 SELECTION CRITERIA Essential Ability to work within and contribute to the mission and values of TLMA. Passionate about products, strong marketing and brand awareness. Writing skills to assist in campaign development and catalogue production Excellent negotiation skills and good understanding of supply chain management Good organisational skills, including logistics and planning. Highly developed customer service skills. Time keeping, multi-tasking and ability to meet stringent deadlines. Ability to work collaboratively with others. Problem solving skills and a desire for continuous improvement. High attention to detail. Computer skills in MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite and internet applications. Ability to demonstrate initiative. A valid driver s licence. Willingness to undertake a police check prior to commencement. Ability to abide by all TLMA policies including the Privacy and Child Protection Policies and the Code of Conduct. Desirable Experience in a similar position. A qualification in a related field (i.e. merchandising, retail and/or warehousing) An understanding of the not-for-profit sector. GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS Hours This is a contracted full time position of 37.5 hours per week between Monday Friday, 8.45am 5pm. Location This position is based at the TLMA National Office, located at 37 Ellingworth Parade, Box Hill Victoria Remuneration Wages: TBA. Salary will be inclusive of exempt fringe benefits. Superannuation: TLMA will contribute 11% of the base salary into the successful applicants preferred superannuation fund. Other Conditions and Benefits TLMA operates a smoke free environment.
