4 About the course Introduction Internal auditing is an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to: Add value and improve an organization's operations Help an organization accomplish its business objectives Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes The field of internal audit is in a state of continuous change and improvement. Today s internal audit function is no longer the same profession as it used to be when Enron, Lehmann Brothers or and WorldCom, among others in the early 2000s caused great harm to shareholders, employees, pensioners, and other stakeholders. Internal audit has become one of the key functions in the process of achieving strategic objectives of each organization. 5 EY Training s Internal Audit in Practice training aims to provide insights on leading practices and experiences in internal audit reports writing process, while complying with IIA standards. The trainees are guided through the internal audit cycle to understand the steps they will need to take to effectively and efficiently prepare and present their own reports based on specific examples. This training allows for a comprehensive overview and understanding of the reports writing process, needs and expectations of the key stakeholders and recipients of audit reports, triggers creativity and helps in effective and efficient execution of the internal auditor s job i.e., communicating results in concise, self-explanatory and value-added audit reports. Target audience Internal auditors Junior to Mid Level Objective This course is designed to provide internal auditors with a comprehensive overview of the audit report writing process. It shows how to effectively and efficiently summarize, and report the results of the internal audit work while complying with relevant international standards and leading practices. Delivery method The training will be interactive and will include: Intensive lecture sessions Workshops facilitated and supported by the trainer Presentations delivered by the participants Duration Three days, between: 09:00 17:00, including time for two short coffee breaks, and one break for lunch. Cancellation and refund policy A full refund less an administration fee of KWD50 will be given for cancellation requests received up to 5 working days before the event. Delegates who cancel less than 5 working days before the event, or who don t attend, are liable to pay the full course fee, and no refunds can be given. However, if you wish to attend a subsequent scheduling of the course, and you have paid your course fee in full, you will only be invoiced for 25% of that course fee.
