2 ABOUT BUSINESS COACHING As a Leadership Development Institute participant, an added benefit of your enrollment is access to one-on-one business coaching. Your tuition covers two optional sessions with any of the following business coaches. Please review the background information of each coach, and rank the top three (3) choices that you would like to be paired with. Coaching selections should be ed to Brooke Rouse at brouse@carolinasleague.org by Wednesday, May 1. Important: If you elect to make this commitment, you must redeem your two sessions by December 3, This is a requirement for graduation. 2

3 LAUREN DEANGELIS SVP Professional Development Carolinas Credit Union League Lauren DeAngelis was named SVP of professional development in December 2018, having previously served as VP of professional development. In her current role, Lauren plans and directs the delivery of innovative professional development services. Lauren has more than 30 years of experience in financial services, including the professional development of more than 250 sales executives at Sallie Mae. Prior to that, she led large teams in several financial institutions in Boston. She has keen insight into staffing, operations, and development and is well positioned to help credit unions address challenges and find solutions to ensure success within today's competitive culture. Lauren has extensive experience in training, facilitation, event and project management, customer service, and sales. She has a BS and AA from the University of New Hampshire, a Master s degree from Oregon State University, and a project management certificate from Boston University. In 2018, she earned her certification as Business & Professional Coaching through North Carolina State University s Business Coaching Certificate program. 3

4 MATT KERSEY Leadership Coach Transition States Coaching & Training Dr. Matt Kersey is a leadership coach, trainer and speaker who specializes in coaching technical people who wish to excel in leadership roles, coaching teams and groups towards key goals, and training accomplished professionals to be certified coaches. Matt successfully transitioned from a bench scientist to leading cross-functional, global product development teams during his 28+ year career in the pharmaceutical industry. He often observed that technical professionals required leadership coaching and training to excel as leaders in their organizations and to address the soft issues that derailed product development objectives. Through Transition States Coaching & Training, Matt employs a unique combination of leadership skills, practical corporate experience and coaching expertise to effectively develop leaders. Matt is a co-facilitator of the NC State University Business Coaching certificate program. He is credentialed through the International Coach Federation and has coached technical leaders as an internal coach in the U.S., UK, China, and Latin America. He is a certified Team Coach from the Pyramid Resource Group and Certified Group Coach. Matt received his B.A. in Chemistry from The College of the Holy Cross and his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Duke University. 4

5 JILL LACKEY Talent Development Solutions Jill has more than 30 years of comprehensive strategy development and operational experience in all aspects of human capital resources including coaching, talent management, HR and Business Strategy and Leadership and Organizational Development. Her professional career includes senior level HR roles with several companies including The Edmunds Group and GMAC Insurance. As an entrepreneur, Jill launched and managed her own leadership and organizational development consulting firm and a Consulting Division for a $1.4 B financial institution. She is a Master Certified Coach (MCC) and has a bachelor s in Psychology and Business from East Carolina University. 5

6 JD MCPHERSON Master Trainer & Senior Consultant Center for Leadership Studies JD McPherson has more than 12 years of experience as a learning professional and has been training Situational Leadership for more than nine years. His high-energy style combined with his passion and enthusiasm for the model makes him an engaging facilitator and executive coach. During his tenure as a learning professional, JD has served as a franchise training manager, supporting multiple franchisees to manage their learning functions and consulting with them on their leadership development. As a senior manager of learning and development, he led a team of training managers that were responsible for managing the hourly and management training for more than 300 restaurants with combined revenues exceeding $600 million. JD has also: Designed and delivered leadership training for district managers and directors; selected, trained and managed a team of facilitators for the delivery of leadership classes developed by The Center for Leadership Studies, Franklin Covey, and Fierce Inc.; and designed and delivered coach training for directors and VPs at Panera Bread. When it comes to executive coaching, JD focuses on developing potential, improving relationships, and enhancing performance. 6
