In the 1980s metrics migrated toward benchmarking. That was followed by a slow movement toward analysis. Early attempts showed past connections between human capital inputs and business outcomes. Today, companies are looking toward the future. Since the only thing that can be managed is tomorrow, we need to develop predictive capability. Following that she was promoted to her present position at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. This is the federal intelligence community comprised of 17 agencies including the CIA, National Security Agency, the military intelligence services and others. Ms. Byers will describe how predictive analytics was used at NRO and how it is part of her work at DNI.
