Everyone is unique, and everyone has his or her own mix of qualities and brings those to a group in his or her unique way Consequently, this is a matter of mix, group dynamics and balance, and NOT A FORMULA More art and less science With every hiring decision, we consider both the individual and the group within which he or she will function for a good fit Introvert or Extrovert Consider your culture and your subject matter experts, and be wary of extremes Recognize the difference between introverts and extroverts; Recognize which is which While these can t be changed, they can be modulated and over time the differences tends to blur we all develop the skills, strategies and approaches we need to succeed 2

3 Persistence Fine Line between Persistence and Obsession Persistence is an approach that pursues the answers and works issues through to resolution, without giving up. Persistence supports team efforts and keeps the team on track Persistence can be subtle or pushy (and, again, consider the culture and group dynamics) Determination Determination is similar to persistence but determination goes to mindset, and persistence goes to execution.
