1 2018 TRAINING REGISTRATION PACKAGE Staff are responsible for monitoring their own trainings and ensuring that training's DO NOT EXPIRE

2 HOW TO COMPLETE / REGISTER FOR BOTH ONLINE AND INCLASS TRAININGS Online Training (select staff login /online training) or Enter Site # and your Employee ID Number. (Ensure that it is your name that is displayed) Welcome page appears and select Training on the left hand side. All Trainings that appear on the list will need to be completed. USE THIS TRAINING CHART TO MONITOR YOUR TRAININGS FOR THE YEAR Remember: you are able to register online for in-class trainings. Select Click to Register on the left hand side Please document all trainings that have been completed on your timesheet. New Staff: Your ID# will be ed to you after your sign up with HR

3 Online Training ALL TRAINING'S NEED TO BE COMPLETED This arrow (^) after the training means = In-class training ( Autism, CPI, First Aid and Lifts and Transfers) For Example: AODA IASR Annual & Bloodborne Pathogens = Not Completed and have to be completed asap Mask fit, MC Client Abuse Prevention and Reporting and WHMIS Annual = Expired and need to be completed Accesseibility, Autism, CPI etc = are all in good order. All trainings should be in the white (no grey) and no red dates

4 Online Training 1. Online training's are to be completed on shift. 2. Should there be extenuating circumstances preventing you from completing your online training's on shift you are to speak to your supervisor to receive pre-approval to complete them off shift and submit additional time. Document the training's. 3. All trainings should be completed on an annual basis before they expire. Expired trainings whether online or in class is not acceptable and can result in you being removed from your scheduled work shifts until you are up to date. 4. If you do not have access to a computer with internet you can make arrangements to book a computer at Head Office at 401 Champagne Drive. Please contact Andrea Jocko. You are required to pre-book an appointment. Drop-ins will not be accommodated. If you experience any difficulty or have any questions you may contact Andrea Jocko at ext. 358 or via at ajocko@metacentre.ca during regular business hours. Please ensure that you receive approval from your supervisor FIRST, in order to claim the training hours on your timesheets. 5 In-Class Training You will need to complete a training registration form. Select 2 available dates and submit to your supervisor. Once the date has been selected and approved by HR, a copy will be sent back to you and your supervisor. If you do not receive a copy of your training registration please contact Andrea and or ask your supervisor. While attending the in-class training, please ensure that you sign in. All part-time and relief employees are to submit a timesheet at the end of each training. Full-Time staff are to declare trainings on their home timesheet. Note: You are able to register online for in-class trainings. Select Click to Register Please note that if a training is LESS than 10 staff, that training will be rescheduled.

6 Reminder 1. You must bring an approved registration form to each training session. 2. Registration for training can be completed on-line or through the registration package. 3. Training registration forms must be submitted to Human Resources two weeks prior to the scheduled training date. 4. Training is scheduled at various locations. Check schedule prior to registration. To register in any of these Training sessions, complete the registration form and submit to your Supervisor or on-line at under Staff Login All Supervisors are to submit registration forms to Human Resources at least two weeks prior to the scheduled training date. If you are unable to attend a training session, that you have been registered and confirmed for, you must leave a voice message or with the Human Resources Department or your supervisor. Otherwise, if you are a NO SHOW to the training without given notice, disciplinary action will be given.

7 T r a i n i n g D e s c r i p t i o n s & R e q u i r e m e n t s - O n l i n e FIRE PREVENTION TRAINING ½ HR This course will recognize hazards, emergency action plans, the different types of fire extinguishers and how to use an extinguisher effectively. This training is valid for one year ACCESSIBILITY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE (AODA) AWARENESS 1 HR Not every disability is visible. The AODA was developed by the Ontario Government to ensure that the province is accessible for all people and to remove any barriers it can. This training is valid for one year WORKPLACE VIOLENCE & HARASSMENT PREVENTION PROGRAM 1 HR This course is an overview of Policy and Procedures and Meta Centre Prevention Program This training is valid for one year CLIENT ABUSE PREVENTION AND REPORTING 1 HR This course is on how to recognize signs that someone may have been or is being abused. Review of Meta Centre s policies. It discusses the different types of abuse. This training is valid for one year INFECTION CONTROL / RESPIRATORY PROTECTION PROGRAM 1 HR **Must be Mask fitted prior to receiving training** This course provides knowledge on proper hand washing, food handling procedures, Sharps and communicable diseases. It will also review various types of masks and how to properly use respirators This training is valid for two years. (alternate year of Mask Fitting) BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS ½ HR Bloodborne pathogens are microorganisms found in human blood, which can infect and cause disease to those exposed. This module provides in depth information on Bloodborne pathogen exposure control principles, practices, and requirements. This training is valid for one year AODA IASR ½ HR Ensures compliance with current AODA requirements, fulfills the requirements of the 2014 compliance report based on the organization size, covers the responsibilities pertaining to accessibility and the AODA, maps out the multi-year accessibility plan, plan to minimize risk and manage liabilities This training is valid for one year WHMIS -1 HR This course teaches the basics of WHMIS, hazard control principles and consumer products according to Occupational Health and Safety. This training is valid for one year META CENTRE SAFE PRACTICES 1 HR This training pertains to competency and due diligence under the Occupational Health and Safety Act This training is valid for one year. WORKER HEALTH & SAFETY AND SAFETY AWARENESS: Modules 1-3 ½ HR Each This training introduces workers to the Occupational Health and Safety Act. It focuses on the health and safety rights and responsibilities of workers, supervisors and employers. It also serves as a general introduction to workplace health and safety. This training is one-time only

8 Training Descriptions & Requirements - In Class CPI (FULL) Participants must attend both days. This is the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention course and is mandatory. It includes techniques for de-escalating behaviour, verbal and physical techniques. Dress comfortably and appropriate shoes. This course is valid for one year. CPI (REFRESHER) This is to be taken by all staff yearly after the CPI (Full) has been completed. This course is a refresher in CPI techniques. Wear comfortable clothing and appropriate shoes. This course is valid for one year. FIRST AID (2 Day) This course is for anyone who has not completed or is not currently in Emergency First Aid or Standard First Aid. Attending both days is mandatory. This course is valid for two years MEDICATION This training focuses on the practical component including medication intake, distribution, proper documentation, etc. The on-line medication training is mandatory and is to be completed prior to completing the practical component. AUTISM & POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR INTERVENTIONS This course will focus on introduction to principles Applied Behaviour Analysis and strategies for reinforcing positive behavior, teaching new skills and creating a supportive environment for individuals with Autism and Developmental Disabilities. This course is one-time only LIFTS & TRANSFERS / BACK CARE This course will focus on safe and proper lifting procedures and how to take care of your back. This course is valid for two years. 10 A T T E N T I O N P A R K I N G B Y - L A W Section of the Municipal Code for the former City of Toronto states: E. General parking prohibitions. (1) No person shall on any highway park any vehicle: (e) For a period longer than three (3) hours, unless the person is the holder of a permit issued under SS 409-B or C or (accessible parking permit) P A R K I N G A T H E A D O F F I C E C H A M P A G N E D R I V E Staff who are attending Head Office for training need to park on Champagne Drive (north-side). During break times you are required to move up your vehicle at least an inch for training's that run longer than 3 hours. There have been plenty of fender benders in the parking lot and no parking for visitors.

11 Training Registration Please ensure to register for training's that you need in timely manner. Registration is based on first come first served. Leaving registration to later in the year has been resulting in no availability. Training's tend to fill up quickly Staff have a thirty (30) day grace period for all IN-CLASS training's. After 30 days staff will be suspended until the training is completed and submitted to HR. Outside training's will not be reimbursed by Meta Centre.
