2 WHO WE ARE Ella s Home opened its doors in January 2016 to enable the recovery of women who have experienced sexual exploitation and trafficking by providing a safe and restorative home. Ella s Home also works alongside other women who have experienced trafficking and/ or sexual exploitation and who now live independently across London, providing advocacy and support work. WHAT WE OFFER Safe accommodation for women who have experienced trafficking and/or sexual exploitation Providing rehabilitative services through supportive care and fostering community building Provide case worker support to women living independently in the community (outside to the physical Ella s Home) who have experienced trafficking and/ or sexual exploitation. BACKGROUND & STRUCTURE Ella s Home is currently a project of Kahaila Limited, a registered charity with a Christian ethos that aims to build community in the local area. Kahaila also takes an active role in addressing issues that affect people locally, nationally and beyond. Ella s Home forms part of the Kahaila Women s Projects, which is comprised of three projects that aim to support women in vulnerable situations by meeting a practical need and providing community support

3 OUR FAITH POLICY Ella s Home is a project to provide women with the opportunity to walk away from cycles of abuse and sexual exploitation that they have experienced through trafficking. Ella s Home is a project of registered Charity: Kahaila. Kahaila runs cafes, a church and other community projects, and has a Christian ethos. Many of Ella s Home staff and volunteers have a Christian faith, but this does not mean it is always required in order to work or volunteer with us, and it is never a requirement to benefit from our services. We do not proselytize the women we work with. We seek to support them in their own faith journey whatever path that takes, recognising that their spiritual journey and/ or faith background/ religion may be very different from our own beliefs. The services we offer are non-discriminatory and service users are treated equally no matter what faith background they have. All women and children that we work with can find a place to belong within Ella s Home. The Christian faith motivates the culture at Ella s Home, inspired by the words of Jesus To love our neighbour as ourselves. We endeavour to go the extra mile for our beneficiaries, believing in potential in everyone, showing love and compassion without condition. Anyone looking to join the Ella s Home team, as staff or in a voluntary capacity, must be sympathetic to our aims and objectives, looking to help drive the project forward in line with our vision. It is advised that applicants be comfortable working within a faith-based organisation, being respectful of faith views. The team will sometimes have a time of prayer together, but this can be used as a time of refection and attendance is not mandatory. If a woman would like us to pray for her or provide chaplaincy-style support, specific team members are happy to offer and facilitate that. For these certain job roles, having a Christian faith is an occupational requirement and will be outlined in job descriptions.
