2 Course Description The primary objective of this course is to provide an understanding of how human resource information s are applied in organizations to support organizational strategy, improve efficiency and flexibility, increase productivity and performance, and ensure compliance with employment law. The focus will be on merging computer technology with a strategic human resource management perspective. This course provides students with the knowledge, skills and abilities to identify, assess, develop and maintain an effective for managing human resources information. Students will develop a through understanding of the plan, design/acquisition, implementation and applications of an HRMS/HRIS, Program Outcomes Successful completion of this and other courses in the program culminates in the achievement of the Vocational Learning Outcomes (program outcomes) set by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities in the Program Standard. Evaluate the main features of the HRMS/HRIS marketplace including: common applications, major vendors, the range of available products/ services and emerging trends. Explain the HRMS/HRIS project cycle and discuss the key issues associated with conducting a needs analysis, acquiring, implementing, maintaining, and monitoring an HRMS/HRIS Assess privacy/ freedom of information issues associated with collection of information in an HRMS/HRIS. Demonstrate the application of an HRMS/HRIS to various functional areas of human resources management. Understand the features and components of an Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP), in general, and the s, applications, and products of SAP R/3, in particular Perform SAP R/3 applications in organizational management and job analysis. Perform SAP R/3 applications in acquiring, retaining, motivating, and developing human resources. Develop basic proficiency in the utilization of the SAP R/3 HR Module, and an understanding of its integration with other functional Modules in SAP R/3. Explain and discuss the issues and techniques associated with research designs, measurement, and evaluation of human resources Critically assess the soundness and effectiveness of human resources practices by applying qualitative and quantitative (statistical) evaluative techniques.
