IoBM Recruitment Drive HR Highlights In Karachi, the Recruitment Drive at IoBM was conducted on April 5 th. Country Manager Nael Ahmed addressed students about ADP s culture while Kiran Ali shared details about the Management Trainee Program. IoBM alumni working in ADP also shared their experiences of working at Abudawood and interacted with the graduates. Interviews were held post-lunch for a large number of registered candidates. All in all the drive was smoothly conducted. We would like to thank Saad Yusufi, Hashim Mamsa, Munyba Khan, Muneeb Ghufran and Fatima Ahmed for taking time out to attend! NUST Recruitment Drive The Drive at NUST was held on April 11 th 2016 on a rainy Monday which made the campus look twice as beautiful. After attending the session by Nael Ahmed, the students were greatly impressed by his advice on life and career choices; an aspect highlighted in most interviews conducted. We would like to thank Muhammad Aamir, Talha Ahmed, Fahd Naveed and Somaya Mukhtar for helping us to conduct interviews in their domains. HR Gazette Volume 36 2

HR Highlights LSE Recruitment Drive Welcomed by peacocks ambling along the sprawling green campus we were walked to the Library for the Guest Speaker session which was conducted for a large crowd of formally dressed students, who were awed by the life lessons shared by Nael Ahmed in his presentation as well as the honest interaction students had with LSE alumni at ADP. We were served a scrumptious, all-organic lunch between the MT interviews. All interviewers unanimously agreed that the candidates exceeded expectations as always. The experience at LSE was extremely hospitable and we can t wait to return next year as well. We would also like to thank Ali Raza Khan, Nabiha Zubair, Omar Khan, Umer Mukhtar, Ali Haider, Ali Akbar Abbas Rizvi, and Zainab Salman from Lahore for attending and assisting us in conducting interviews while enjoying the experience thoroughly. HR in the field : booking, delivering & stocking! In order to gain hands-on experience in business understanding HR coordinated with Section Managers and Warehouse Supervisors in CBD and CS&L to conduct rotations in the market. For the CBD rotations HR personnel conducted order bookings and took stock of orders while also engaging in merchandising and setting up hotspots! In CS&L we spent time observing morning operations and making recommendations for stocking at the Warehouse. The learning was enlightening and we would like to thank all Section Managers & Warehouse Supervisors for taking time out from their schedules to share their expertise! HR Gazette Volume 36 3

HR Gazette Volume 36 4 Abudawood Highlights Dera Ismail Khan : Competing on field for runs! An initiative was taken by the CS&L Team at DI Khan to arrange an engagement activity for its employees. The CS&L team, the Sub D team and the GT Section Supervisors arranged an exciting game of cricket for its members. The activity turned out to an excellent idea to bond and compete on the field for a healthy game of packed action instead of competing on targets! Three cheers for the CS&L Team at DI Khan!

HR Gazette Volume 36 5 Moving people, moving business Waqas Ali Khan had to say this about himself Setting goals My strategy is to do a Sales Call not a Postman Call Through my FLM I keep my data on my fingertips to know what brands are my strengths and what brands are my weaknesses in order to achieve targets Good PR with customers is very important to achieve success in market Business as usual I do not engage in shop talk as soon as I arrive. I spend time chit-chatting with my customers to build a personal relationship I inform them about championships and deals to interest them which also helps me achieve my targets P&G is a well respected brand and I leverage that. Motivation When your FLM appreciates you in front of your colleagues I don t want to remain an SR. I want to grow within the company hence I stay on top of my game. For those of you who don t know Waqas Ali Khan Hometown: Gujrat City Present location: Gujrat Reporting to: Arslan Ali Qadir Been with Abudawood since: 1 year 4 months Favorite personality: Ex-FLM Usman Umer who taught me how to do a good sale which is more difficult because everyone can make a sale Favorite food: BBQ - which I easily eat three to four times a week! It is... where people have big brains and bigger hearts. Where subordinates school their managers and little girls tether giants. It is... where each day is an adventure, every month an epic story, rife with twists and turns, heroes and villains, tragedy and comedy. It is... where laughter rings, ideas flow, debates ensue and strategies evolve. Where everyone speaks and everyone listens. (Often at the same time) It is... where each person counts but the total is greater than the sum of its parts. THIS is KMM. March 16 IYA: 120% Peshawar Islamabad MR Karachi MR

What are other people up to Shireen & Hassan Zafar Visionaries of The Street School To manage time after school is not that difficult. I don t use my cell phone for two hours and instead to do something I like Shireen and Hasan Zafar teach more than 25 street children, who sell flowers and tissue papers or beg at traffic signals on the streets of Defence Housing Authority. The siblings set up a rudimentary classroom near Café Clifton on Khayaban-e-Shamsheer. They spend two hours teaching children from 4:30pm onwards, for six days a week when The street school runs. The idea developed from a desire to help the underprivileged in a discussion with her fifteen year-old bother Hassan. If I am lucky enough to get educated, then why not these children, shared Hasan. And so within months the idea for a small session turned into a whole classroom for street children. Hasan is a student of 9 th grade and thinks there is no better way to utilize their own education at a fundamental level. One of the students at the school is Pashmina, a 16-year-old girl from Neelum Colony, who is suffering from polio, but comes to these classes regularly to study English, Mathematics and Urdu. Pashmina, who attends classes regularly, said she wanted to study but her family could not afford it since her mother works as a maid in a bungalow. In two months she is proud to have learnt multiplication tables of two and three and all the alphabets in English and Urdu. Salman Khan, who comes to the classes from his house in Shireen Jinnah Colony, said that he sells tissue paper near Sea View before and after the class and manages to make Rs. 300 every day. Earning is my need but studying is my want, he said, adding that he wants to study enough to be able to work at an office one day. I sell these crackers the whole day, said Albela, who was unable to tell his age. He brings his bag of crackers with him so he can go back to selling once he is done with class. The duo was able to maintain attendance at the classes for several weeks by paying each student Rs. 20 from their pocket money to keep the children committed. Rana Yasmeen, a government school teacher of basic pay scale grade 15, also spares time from her busy schedule and helps Shireen and Hasan conduct classes.
