1 Post Title: Department: Lead QA - Facilities Management, Facilities Services and Cleaning Environmental Services Apprenticeships, Employment & Commercial Grade: 4 Salary: 37,619 Accountable to: Apprenticeship Delivery Manager Job Purpose: To Line Manage a team of QAs and Assessors/Trainers, manage EQA Visits, conduct observations according to awarding body and college requirements. Ensure all activities continually meet the needs of the learners and are in line with Awarding Organisation and college requirements. To co-ordinate, monitor and support assessment of specific qualifications including full apprenticeship frameworks and to promote high standards in training, mentoring and assessment. Oversee the delivery of teaching, learning and assessment in conjunction with the quality standards set by the college. Monitor the administration and collection of the data required to ensure targets are met. Ensure that the colleges safeguarding, equal opportunities and diversity policies are adhered to and monitor their compliance. KEY DUTES and Responsibilities The Lead QA role will have the main responsibility for overall and timely success rates, which should improve year on year. To Line Manage a team of QAs and Assessors for specific qualifications including full apprenticeship frameworks To ensure college Quality Assurance processes lead to continuous improvement and improved learner satisfaction and success rates through a team of Programme specialists/qas. To manage and develop team and individuals to meet agreed teaching learning and assessment targets To manage sampling and verification activity to improve the progression and achievement of learners. To manage and plan the observational visits of Assessors and QA s and to monitor the observation process of other QAs in their team. To manage and maintain regular contact with QA s, Assessors and Quality & Compliance Manager to ensure consistency of the sampling plan/process and targets set. To coach, develop and update QA s in the performance of their role through regular minuted meetings. Advise, observe and guide QA s on the sampling within timescales set. To ensure that portfolios meet College and regulatory requirements. To ensure that evidence presented by learners meets all Awarding Organisation standards and audit requirements via formative/interim and summative/final sampling. To manage and participate in External verification visits to ensure the necessary visits schedule is adhered to. To ensure all audit documentation is available to support the various external and internal quality checks/audits.

2 To manage a cycle of standardisation meetings and involvement in Awarding Organisation visits Ensure all learner registrations, claims and certification are timely and accurate Liaise with the Exams department to ensure the smooth running of exam bookings, result reporting and data required for results reporting Liaise, work with and advise the college quality team on matters concerning work based learning Manage all delivery plans, schemes of work and resources with tutors to ensure a consistent and standardised approach to teaching, learning and assessment Maintain detailed records of all QA decisions and recording. Ensure paperwork meets minimum standards set by the college and funders. Monitor the recruitment, enrolment and induction process for their areas Monitor the administration of the enrolment, registration and tracking of learners on smart assessor ensuring that data is updated in a timely manner and is kept up to date for specific qualifications Manage the QA Sample plans and the reporting of candidates progression through monthly reporting processes Manage the workloads of Assessors and QAs for their specific qualifications including allocation of assessors in conjunction with the Quality & Compliance Manager processes. Manage a reduced caseload of Learners. 4 Person Specification Lead QA: Area to be assessed Essential Desirable How this will be assessed Qualifications Qualification (occupational competency) in field of expertise (Facilities Management, Facilities Services And Cleaning Environmental Services) AF Assessor qualifications - D32/D33 or A1/A2 Verification Qualifications V1 (or D34) Recognised teaching qualification Professional Evidence of ongoing professional updating and development development in relevant fields Knowledge Good understanding of employers needs and the key issues facing them and influencing their training requirements. Understanding of up-to-date methods of training delivery and assessment. An understanding of the barriers to learning that are experienced by adults. An understanding of Equal Opportunities and how this relates to the working environment. Experience Team Management experience with a track record in high quality training provision to meet employers needs. Where involved in NVQ verification and assessment, experience working in field, including some supervisory/ management experience (sufficient to demonstrate occupational competence).

5 Skills and Qualities Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills Ability to liaise effectively with employers on a day to day basis, feeding back on any concerns. Ability to work with individuals to assess their competence against set criteria in an unstructured environment. Self-motivated, with good organisational skills and the ability to take responsibility for own workload. T user skills Willingness and ability to travel to employer s premises across London to deliver training. Willingness to work flexibly including delivery of hours outside of normal office hours, and at weekends where necessary.
