Agilent 7667A Mini Thermal Desorber MEASURE VOCS IN GAS MATRIX WHEN MOBILITY MATTERS

Now you can perform fast, confident gas sample introduction with low detection limits in the field In-lab thermal desorption prior to GC/MS analysis is not always practical for mobile applications and emergency response situations. Now, a new technology puts gas sample introduction at your fingertips, no matter where your analysis takes you. Introducing the Agilent 7667A Mini Thermal Desorber (TD): True mobility and flexibility for your VOCs analysis Agilent s 7667A Mini TD features a tube-based design that delivers long-term reliability, along with performance and precision for your most demanding applications. It is designed with true mobility, with a small bench space, energy efficiency, and intuitive software making it ideal for routine screening or on-site crisis response. The Agilent 7667A Mini TD is fully compatible with Agilent s transportable 5975T GC/MS and 490 Micro GC making it suitable for a variety of military, environmental, occupational safety, and forensic applications. 2

A fully mobile TD that saves both energy and space Agilent s 7667A Mini TD is a true reflection of Agilent innovation, and is designed with the mobile lab in mind. The optional integrated air sampling pump, energy-efficient operation, and compatibility with a variety of power supplies including DC, AC, and battery supply from Micro GC lets you perform your analysis anytime, anywhere. What s more, an embedded transfer line allows the 7667A Mini TD to sit on top of the GC inlet, saving you space while minimizing dead volume. The embedded transfer line also allows easy, plug-and-play installation and dismounting when seconds count. These advanced technologies increase analytical speed and reliability On-tube heating rates of up to 500 C per minute minimize cycle time. Optional electronic pneumatic control (EPC) ensures lab-quality results with unrivaled precision. Plug and play embedded transfer line, available in The 7667A Mini TD enhanced version, lets you configure any GC or GC/MS system without worrying about connection changes. Integrated software with OpenLAB ChemStation or EZChrom and MassHunter make operation easy when time is short. Automatic self-leaking test is performed for every sample to ensure testing quality even in rough environments. To learn more about the Agilent 7667A Mini Thermal Desorber, visit 3

Flexible configurations let you choose the right level of mobility for your needs Because Agilent s 7667A Mini TD is the first thermal desorber developed in-house by Agilent, it incorporates over 40 years of chromatography experience plus a thorough understanding of how our customers perform out-of-lab analysis. The Entry version is designed for the labs which already have an independent air pumping system and it leverages the pneumatic control from the GC or GC/MS. It connects to GC or GC/MSD using a standard 60 cm transfer line. Our Enhanced Configuration provides the highest level of mobility, with features such as: Embedded transfer line: Allows the 7667A Mini TD to be mounted on top of the GC inlet Integrated sampling pump: Ensures fast responsiveness for real-time sampling and close-to-sample testing Electronic Pneumatic Control: Maintains a constant flow for each run The configuration for the Micro GC will be available mid 2013 and shares the same features as the enhanced configuration. The transfer line dimensions are optimized for connecting to the Micro GC inlet. Choose from three configurations for maximum operational versatility Configuration Enhanced For Micro GC* Entry** Standard tube Transfer line Embedded transfer line Standard external transfer line Standard external transfer line Sampling pump Desorbing flow EPC Dry purging Leak detection Tube cleaning *Available by mid-2013 **Entry version does not support 5975T

Powerful, user-friendly interface simplifies system operation and minimizes training time The highly intuitive user interface of Agilent s 7667A Mini TD allows even non-chromatographers to operate the software with ease and generate highly reproducible data. Seamlessly integrate the 7667A platform with Agilent GC and GC/MSD systems Agilent s 7667A Control Software gives you an unprecedented level of customization because it is compatible with all levels of software products including Agilent Masshunter, OpenLAB ChemStation, and EZChrom. This reduces costly training time by allowing the 7667A and the GC or GC/MSD products in your lab to run on the same user-friendly interface. Clearly arranged graphic icons display all major functions in one window, minimizing operational errors. Integrated software with Masshunter, OpenLAB ChemStation, or EZChrom makes operation easy and straightforward. Sample tube flexibility for your specific application The Agilent 7667A Mini TD works with industry standard sorbent tubes with 3-1/2 length and 1/4 o.d. to accommodate both pumped (active) and diffusive (passive) sampling. 6 Confidently screen and measure VOCs by combining thermal desorption with Agilent s 5975T GC/MSD GC and GC/MS analysis of VOCs can be performed in the lab after samples are gathered from the field. However, since most samples originate outside the lab, the majority of VOC emissions testing is performed by mobile labs equipped with transportable instruments to ensure fast response and accurate on-site results. More than 60 VOC compounds including CFCs (chlorofluorocarbon), hydrocarbons, and aromatics were detected by the 7667A Mini TD and the 5975T in one injection with less than 15 minutes of cycle time. Accurate and economical quantitative measurement solutions can be provided by liquid standard calibration. Automated online sampling makes on-site analysis faster and easier to operate. Figure 1. 7 The off-line mode supports on-site sampling using the personal pump allowing the 7667A and the 5975T to reach places where the mobile lab cannot.
