1 AR19799 LARGE PROJECT COLLABORATION USING COLLABORATION FOR REVIT & BIM360 TEAM Steven Knudsen Associate - BIM Leader Gensler Chad Speas Senior Associate Design Apps Manager Corgan Learning Objectives Discover the key project and team dynamics that led to choosing Collaboration for Revit and A360 Understand the initial setup and preparation of A360 within your organization and across team members Learn about key workflows during day-to-day design and documentation Learn how using A360 can streamline multi office collaboration Large, Complex, and in the Cloud? No Problem! Large, complex, and in the cloud? No problem! Corgan, Gensler, Turner Construction, and PCL all major players in the design and construction industry working together to simultaneously access data while maintaining firm individuality and capitalizing on connections to their corporate infrastructure. This proposal will discuss our use of A360 cloud-based collaboration service and A360 Collaboration for Revit cloud service on the Los Angeles International Airport Midfield Satellite Concourse, with a focus on staff management, model management, and consultant management. We will cover why we chose A360 and A360 Collaboration for Revit, how we set up A360 and A360 Collaboration for Revit, how we structured the model in the cloud, how to execute a large complex project in the cloud, and what the benefits are of multiple-office collaboration. Attendees will come out of this presentation with a clear understanding of how to successfully set up and execute A360 cloud-based collaboration service and A360 Collaboration for Revit cloud service on large complex projects. This session features A360 and Collaboration for Revit. AIA Approved Page 1

3 Discover the key project and team dynamics that led to choosing C4R & BIM360 team Challenge Teams needed to be collocated in a site office. Possible team members supporting from multiple locations Cost of setting up Infrastructure, Hardware, Software, etc? Owner needed access to model at all times. (Contract requirement) Testing What can we do to break it? Infrastructure tests Testing lasted about 6 weeks Coordinated efforts and approvals from the owner & contractors Integrated conversations with the C4r Autodesk team Page 3

4 Why we chose A360 LOW COST OF INFRASTRUCTURE SPEED TO MARKET FLEXIBILITY IN WORK LOCATIONS CENTRAL LOCATION NO LATENCY (COMPARED TO CITRIX) PLATFORM WE ALREADY KNOW INTEGRATED PRODUCTION COLLABORATION Page 4

5 UNDERSTAND THE INITIAL SETUP AND PREPARATION OF A360 WITHIN YOUR ORGANIZATION AND ACROSS TEAM MEMBERS Project Setup & Initiation ASK FOR 4 THINGS: SCHEDULE TEAM SETUP / STAFFING CHART LIST OF DELIVERABLES CONTRACT, EXECUTION PLAN OR OWNER BIM REQUIREMENTS 4 steps for success Establish user entitlements Send invitations to the hub Send invitations to the project Confirm everyone s revit & c4r are up to date or installed Page 5
