2 Overview In term of Chapter 3 (Section 10) of the Skill Development Act, 97 of 1998 one of the function of the SETA i to monitor and quality aure training that i taking place within their ector. It i in line with the proviion of thi Act that the SASSETA will on an ongoing bai conduct Monitoring and Evaluation viit to training ite and workplace that are implementing training programme within the Safety and Security Sector and area of it immediate training cope. Procedure Monitor will etablih contact with the workplace or ite to be monitored and agree a monitoring chedule. Confirmation in writing will be provided to all thoe involved in the monitoring proce, at leat 5 working day in advance of the monitoring chedule. The monitoring team will conit of SASSETA Learnerhip Department peronnel. Pre monitoring Briefing Briefing will be baed on an explanation of the monitoring and evaluation proce to be implemented on ite. Thi briefing will occur by arrangement with the workplace repreentative. Monitoring Reource All required reource will be detailed and coted at the planning tage and will be approved in writing by SASSETA. Interview and Feedback 2

3 Interview will be conducted between the monitor, learner repreentative, and the workplace peron reponible for managing the learnerhip proce regarding all iue of compliance. Feedback will alo take place between the monitor, the learner repreentative and the employer. All feedback iue will be documented and igned off. Reporting Report of all monitoring viit will be made by and igned off by the monitor. Report will include the following: Monitor name Date and Venue Monitoring Site Detail Workplace Contact Detail Completed Checklit Recommendation Action plan Compliance Statu Compliance follow up Where iue of non-compliance are agreed a compliance follow up report i required. Thi report can be the reult of documented affirmation of required action carried out and by whom, or a a reult of a follow up ite viit, in which cae a follow up report will be iued by the monitor, a detailed in the procedure on reporting.
