25 Approved centre 069 NEBOSH Certificate Overview We ve been accredited to help you gain the following Certificate-level NEBOSH qualifications: National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health National Certificate in Construction Safety and Health National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management International Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health. All NEBOSH Certificate qualifications: are open to all so you don t need any previous qualifications or experience are accredited at Level 3 within the National Qualification Framework meet the academic requirements for: Technician Membership (Tech IOSH) of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Associate Membership of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM). Unit-based approach All Certificate-level qualifications are divided into units two units are taught and the third and final unit is a workplace-based assignment. NGC1 Managing Health and Safety is common to the National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health, the National Certificate in Construction Safety and Health, and the National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management, as you can see in the diagram below. In other words, you ll need to complete this course as your first step on the way to gaining any of these certificates. Once you ve passed NGC1, you can go on to take any of the other units within five years and add them together in order to gain the qualification you need. But make sure you continue your studies within five years of passing NGC1 or you ll need to take this first course again. Course structure: The taught element of this course is split into two distinct units NGC1 and FC1. Each unit is delivered in five days (Monday to Friday). Complete it successfully and you ll be awarded an industry-recognised qualification in construction safety and health and is referenced directly in the CDM code of practice. Ideal for: Managers, CDM Co-ordinators and supervisors within the construction industry who are required to ensure that activities under their control are undertaken safely. People in related fields including facilities management, maintenance and renovation will also find attendance useful. Course structure: The taught element of this course is split into two distinct units NGC1 (which lasts five days) and NCC1 (which runs for 10 days). And we ll use our expertise to help you gain it. The syllabus for this qualification omits UK-specific legislation, focusing instead on international standards (ILO Codes) and best practice. Ideal for: Managers, supervisors and safety professionals working outside the UK or those who work for multinational companies. Course structure: The taught element of this course is split into two distinct units IGC1 and IGC2. Each unit is delivered in five days, from Monday to Friday, over two consecutive weeks. By completing the Diploma you ll gain the knowledge and understanding you need to effectively carry out the duties of an occupational health and safety practitioner. This competence will be reflected by the designatory letters you ll be able to put after your name, DipNEBOSH. Plus you ll also be able to apply for Graduate Membership of IOSH (GradIOSH), which is the first step to becoming a Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH). Ideal for: Safety practitioners operating in any sector who want to take professional qualifications. Course structure: The course syllabus has four units: Unit A: Managing health and safety Unit B: Hazardous agents in the workplace Unit C: Workplace and work equipment safety Unit D: Workplace based assignment. We ve broken down the syllabus into six one-week blocks of training so you can fit your studies around your other commitments. There are two weeks of study for each Unit with a supervised self study element for Unit A. NEBOSH National Examinations for Units A, B and C are held twice a year in January and July. Complete it successfully and you ll be awarded an industry-recognised qualification in construction safety and health and is referenced directly in the CDM code of practice.
